Adding once again to this thread with actual observations after about 8 months as a user...
(My queries and replies start at around page 124 of this enormously long thread.)

Most importantly:
This provider has been helpful for me and I want to be very clear that what follows IS my honest observations and review - but that it is NOT aimed at flaming, bashing or tearing down this provider.


Right now my biggest concern is that I want to gain full control of the domain I have with X3 - and though the site easily gave me the EPP code, the admin info is locked and private, so the transfer cannot be completed as it must be confirmed via the admin email - which seems to go noplace real at all.
So the transfer cannot complete.
I had asked X3 about this specifically sometime back and was assured that I could transfer out anytime via the client area - but that statement is not 100% accurate for me.


Now to my honest observations and review:
- This hosting is OK - not terrible - not terrific - just OK.
- It has downtimes pretty often which are variable in length.
- It has things like 500 server errors from time to time.
- Their main site's client area is very, very slow to respond.
- This service is definitely good enough for casual uses.
- This service is not well suited to uses which require almost 100% uptime.

My recommendations to the provider:
- Either improve your reseller and other most critical services even more, or stop offering reseller hosting as it has already brought too much controversy as is clearly shown here at the forum.

My needs for hosting are such that this service is a bit below my standards for reliability and availability, therefore I have not placed any client accounts onto it.
I've given it a fair test, monitoring it 24/7 for most of a year already.
As things stand right I do not plan to renew with this provider, I am sad to say.

If, and only if I am able to replace my domain on my account with a free one and keep the account open, I will continue to monitor it and see if it gets substantially better for the remainder of the year of my service here.

Aside of that, it is time for me to get some serious uses out of the domain currently assigned to my account here and for that I need it to point at more reliable service.
This may soon be a VPS that I have with WP on it...or another of my providers, but I need the domain transferred first.

Before this question comes up:
No - I have not made a ticket yet as I wanted to see if the transfer confirmation email would be dealt with properly - but after a bit more than a day this did not happen.

If I was able to change the admin contact info to my default or alternate info I could do this myself very easily - but it will not allow me to do this.

FreeBlackHat I wish you well in your business and hope you will manage to do even better than you have until now AND with FAR less controversy between yourself and the users.

Individual Websites could get this error every where if they don't have the requirements of the scripts they are going to install !

Someone will think we are offering cheap prices that's why we have an issues with our servers or something bad !

BTW:
500 errors that appear and later vanish with no action taken by the user before OR afterwards are highly unlikely to be the result of user incompetence - especially users who've already been successfully using WP for years on reliable hosting with ZERO 500 errors, and:
This test installation is a bare, current installation that auto-updates - no plugins or funky settings AT ALL.

I very STRONGLY suggest to FreeBlackHat to help me without further delay - as the alternative will be to have me agreeing with the detractors of this service, which may not be such a good thing...
Fix tickets 895120 and 955575 please..
It's been more than three weeks since I raised the tickets..

The problem has yet to be fixed but you've closed the tickets?
I've run a support team before and closing unsolved tickets is a no no!
And saying that a problem will be solved SOON is not an answer to be given in support tickets. Especially when it's already taken weeks of none action.

Here is My Personal Review about this offer .. All I can say about X3Host's service is ...

It is not suitable for production. I use it mainly for test sites and workshops.

My monitoring tool shows uptime at 98.74% for the past 30 days with regular Error 500.

They are also the only webhosting who've moved my accounts around to other servers without informing me beforehand. Imagine that happening to you if you have clients and resellers under your master reseller account.

The most recent move is about one month ago.. My account has now been moved back into the NY server (I think). The NY server seems to have some clock and TZ sync problem and I can't access my Master Reseller tool.

How long have I been a client? About 18 months or so..

I was hoping that they could improve their service, at least to be decent enough for me to promote to my clients.. but after 18 months.. clearly they have not and probably will not improve.

As with smithnowt, I will keep monitoring to the end of my current subscription. Let's see if they can improve..

To X3Host.. please do attend to my 2 tickets.. don't just close it and say it will be fix soon. Fix it, then you can close it.

Making claims aimed at calling them liars or incompetents is VERY bad for business.

Hours and days pass after folks here ask for the OP's help...without any clear evidence that help is being provided.
Tickets are being ignored; as are urgent pleas for help posted by forum members.

The OP is clearly only interested in what HE has to say.

In a 241 page thread with over 2400 posts - it may be that 75% of those posts are the OP's, refuting any evidence of poor services or pushing folks to buy his offers.

I have given this service a fair chance, and now I am becoming very disappointed as well.

Right now I will email the known addresses for the OP - a single, last-ditch effort to get some help after my open ticket got no response and my previous reply here asking for help was insultingly replied to with zero assistance offered.

My patience and goodwill does have its limits, and they will soon be exceeded by this lack of support.
