Simple, you can authenticate your Elegant Themes subscription, by ACTUALLY getting a subscription with Elegant Themes. That way, you will have access to their API key, and you will be able to do the one click automatic update. I have a lifetime subscription, so that's why I can share when they update, but you will have to update manually. I have considered opening a BSO with ALL themes, ALL plugins, and API details. But I know that there will always be some d1ckhead that would get it and then share it freely everywhere. That's why I keep my own API details to myself for the time being.

Should be OK if you are using a child theme.
