1. I believe from Anno1366's reply to my previous post that; it is an original copy with no files modified. If you are worried about "call-backs" to the website. There is a plugin you can install in Wordpress that will help you in achieving that.
2. For designers really. It helps you to understand how the theme was developed in the first place. It's like giving the design plans to a completed house, or design plans for a car. Now, in our hands, it's shit. But in the hands of an automotive or industrial designer, it is gold.
Once you understand how the system is designed, you will be able to easily hack away at the theme to create slick modifications.
