Point taken.

Understood.

Thanks will do.
All I know is 5,000 posts in 30 days(and it's likely less days than that unless he joined between Sept. 1-8) is over 100 posts per day. If he's been a member for 30 days(and it's 38 at most), that's 166 posts a day. How does that happen? Not that I have a problem with it, but that's a heck of a lot of posting.

Edit

I just checked his profile and he joined on Sept. 25. That's 353 posts per day. That's crazy, lol.

Why are you fussing over this... don't you have something better to do than to pollute my thread with this crap?

FYI: the reason for so many posts is that to bump someone's membership status to "VIP" -- it's easier to associate "VIP" rank to 5000 posts... this way the Admin only has to add posts to the member to add this rank to his profile... as well, it may give the guy a character (ego) boost to have a higher post count, too...

What REALLY matters most is your REPUTATION...

Anyway, don't fuss so much in my thread, OK? ... go do some good with what you've learned here.

If you're so concerned with polluting your thread, why are you polluting it with this crap? This thread has 17 pages of posts. I think it will survive just fine with the two I made.

353 posts a day is a lot, no matter what the reason. And like I said earlier, I don't really care, it's just an observation, so get over yourself already.
@CTM: Now that's some serious sharing!

Thanks so much for handing us the keys to dem d*** backdoors :-D

You mentioned you only use proxies when necessary. Now some stuff you come across will be some gigabytes large. And proxies make downloading such stuff a royal pain in the arse. Plus I can't seem to get filezilla to work with a proxy.

Now you can find lots of ftps with ripped stuff and some private pictures on top of that :) I'm tempted to just directly connect to these ftps as it's just the fastest way.

Now what do you think about this? And do you consider a VPN a good alternative for file work?

I just feel like that even if some guys notice you accessed their ftps they won't really bother as they are mostly filled up with nothing but downloaded torrents anyway.

Some sound advice on this and a few words about your own experience are highly appreciated.

I use a VPN on occasion... though, most VPNs will throttle your speed and indeed make it a pain to get things done (but not always) ... I also have a few good sources for high quality proxies that are not available to the public, too...

that said... is your choice to use some sort of proxy, but is not always needed, imho... I doubt anyone is going to hunt you down for downloading crap on a public server, anway... if they wanted it to be private, they shold not put it out in public.
[hide]Please don't shoot me for clouding your thread but I have a question along the same lines as some of the conversations in this thread. If I am posting this in the wrong area I apologize. I need emails or contact info on every single daycare and Children's hospital in the United States - Can anyone here think of an easy way for me to get this information. I really would appreciate the help !

Thanks

Thank you very much for your opinion on that one. Cool

Making your ftp publicly accessible is like not locking your car. I also thought so. Besides, I think they would not even directly notice that somebody downloaded their stuff. I don't think people who can't even put a pw for their ftp would be able to check their log files or even know what a log file is. Only the ISP would maybe report some "suspicious activity" I guess. But I highly doubt even that will happen as they should only care about bandwidth usage and such I guess.

You made me curious about the good proxy sources. Any more hints on this one, please?
