Being part of VIP is not just a good idea, its a great idea.
There are threads that go way beyond what you see as a free member.
I have seen things shared that are worth well more than any WSO you have found, and they are shared while the method is still relevant.
Beyond that there are tons of tools and mega shares that just aren't going to be available anywhere outside the vip section that can make anyone a lot of money if they just apply themselves.
I recommend that if you want to have the best information, talk to people who are successful, then you want to become VIP.

I've been a VIP member for a few years now, and quite honestly the membership paid for itself the first week I got it. I like to soak up as much information as possible, and I could spend an entire lifetime going through all of the courses that are available in the VIP sections. Not to mention there is more of a community feeling there, as people seem a lot more willing to help their fellow VIP's.
