Reinstall means reformat?

Ans: Reinstall - during the process of installation, windows will ask whether you want upgrade + keep existing data, partition or delete, reinstall(means going to reformat).

Important: better get a portable hard drive and backup all your data from hard drive. I normally use copy and paste.
