and now for my 3.5 pennies worth...

STOP WORRYING!!

If you enrolled on a course in 2015 and haven't gotten round to watching it by 2018, chances are you never will!! And again, if you've got a collection of a 100+ course you will never get round to watching them all anyway.

If you still have access to you're account, and there are any courses you REALLY want to keep, use a tool like udemy-dl (on github) to download a local copy. If you have lost your account and really want a course from 2015 then ask on here and I am sure someone will "gift it to you" (which is a feature on the Udemy dashboard).

Like I said, we don't know if using a tool like udemy-dl will get our account banned or not, because we don't know how their monitoring system is working.
It would be interesting to get the complete course listings of the banned accounts and compare to see if there are any duplicates.

My gut reaction is this could be caused by an author being hacked and the person distributing free vouchers for the course. The author would complain and any accounts with that course which used the "bad" code would need to be investigated.

That might explain why there doesn't seem to be a consistent reason why accounts are being shut down.

Just a thought.
may be your computer has some kind of viruses or your account was hacked.
hello
i have friend of mine that have enrolled in over than 10000 courses and does'nt have any issue with that
Wow. I have 20892 + courses so I'm probably next. 25sweating
Do you enter feedback for the courses? Maybe that's the issue?
I have nearly 7,000 courses on Udemy. If I live to be 1,000, I doubt I will ever be able to view them all. The vast majority of them were ones I got through free coupon codes.

I have bought about 30 courses, though - always on sale - usually black Friday sales. I wonder if that's why - they see me as a regular paying customer?

I have taken and completed some courses and interacted with instructors.

I had planned on teaching my own course and started it, but got side-tracked and all my videos are outdated now as it was how to use software that has been updated a few times. I don't know if that kind of behavior is protecting me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Never had a problem with Udemy I have over 1000 courses 98% with free coupon, Azazel looks like some one has accessed your account to me or tried to from a different IP. Keep contacting support they will reinstate your account. Anyone looking to do their own courses on udemy I say go for it, I currently have courses on their and have no problems at all.

Here's 1 of my courses if you want a free coupon message me i will send 1.

I never believe that udemy said someone hacked our accounts .......

Since many udemy subscribers were banned suddenly (can't login nor recover password for long time) at nearly the same time but after several days many subscibers got their account recovered (hacker can prevent us from recovering our password? No, Only udemy can!!) I tend to believe that this is not FREE Course related..

Udemy did want to kick out some subscribers who violated their rules/policies, but udemy did not want outsiders to know this fact, they had their kickout action done in hidden way (background), and during this period they just said to us saying so-called "suspicious activity" but they never explained this clearly......probably they accidently banned many normal accounts!

Of course this is only my GUESS..

I even know that a friend of mine had his account reactivated and got US$20 in credit from udemy for buying their courses later....just for compensation....
