Upon additional consideration after first reading the comments on this post, I suggest that everyone that has an issue regarding this matter, contact Udemy and inform them that the authors of courses INTENTIONALLY provide free coupons in order that they can acquire honest reviews of their courses. Such an act is beneficial (and more profitable) for the course creator and Udemy as well.
This has been a time honored practice long before Udemy came into existence (look on the back of any best selling novel or any popular IM course and there will be numerous testimonials).
If my understanding is correct (please correct me if it is not), there is nothing in the Udemy TOS that violates this practice.
If enough forum members take the time to "advise" the Udemy administration about this (and are willing to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau (online and offline) as well as filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission for neglecting their own TOS, one of two things will likely happen:
1. Udemy will continue to honor the free coupons provided by the authors of courses (which would be beneficial for content creators as well as Udemy)
2. Udemy will reject the use of ALL free coupons (in which case, all parties would suffer a loss)
There is strength in numbers, but only if those numbers speak their mind. Udemy is a business and they depend on customers. I have obtained numerous free courses via the generosity of the members of this forum (THANK YOU!).
I have also (happily) purchased many Udemy courses because of the value that was self evident by the knowledge that could improve my business or add to the quality of my life in some manner.
Please, let Udemy know how you/we feel.
Thank you for taking the time to consider the contents of this post.
Most of the account was restored including mine. Send another support request to him after 2-3 days, they will surely re-activate the account.
I have about 3000 courses, totally free coupon and free courses!
I think Udemy don't want to jump to shit!
Keep calm and create another ticket for support!
Have the same problem with my account with more than 10000+ courses...
And their support just refuse to say what I did wrong:
Thanks for getting back to us. Your account has been terminated. As of now, there is nothing we can do to re-enable it.

This will be our last reply.

There is also a topic in reddit:

So i think its ok to buy one course and be on the safe site :)
Did you really mean to say that you had more than 10 THOUSAND courses there ?!?:

If so, that seems more like needing to spend a whole lifetime just watching courses between sleeping and other bodily functions !!

These big corpies are all their own lawmakers and change stuff when and how ever they feel like it - AND usually causing losses to us ordinary folks.

They are quite content at taking your funds, then arbitrarily blocking you out with NO recourse - which is just, plain wrong.

The big thing about what is happening more and more is when they promote their site/business/etc. as being a 'community' and try to engage all sorts of supposedly social support for THEM...when what they really are within their own domain is 100% dictatorial.
These monopolistic monoliths are fooling their users right in plain sight - openly, because most folks seem to believe that the corpies are benevolent.

Sorry to burst that bubble, but:
They are NOT.

My suggestions regarding using Udemy:
Buy a cheapie now and then - and for the courses that you really value (NOT all of them though !!) - download all the content to your local storage, that way if they nuke your account at least you have the ones you really need without having to re-buy them in a new account.
Check the foll. reddit topic,

Not really, in those reddit topics some people say that they purchased most of their udemy courses, and still got banned!

But many say that after replying to udemy's automated email, asking for their account to be activated again, the problem have been solved.

The problem is that udemy is checking and monitoring the users, downloading the courses is against their rules, unless the instructor has made it possible.

There are some tools to download these courses but we don't know if they are safe to use specially in these conditions, I guess the most safe method would be good old IDM, but it takes ages to download videos one by one using it.

I have no idea why do we have to watch their courses online only, as many of us have to download them because of crappy internet connections and need to have fast access to them, many other online teaching platforms let their subscribers to download the stuff that they have paid for.

Udemy is the biggest company in this market and its not like those pirating stuff is damaging their revenue that much. Is it really worth to make all these problem for your users, udemy? to stop some people who otherwise would not pay for your courses anyway!
