Thanks everyone for your feedback. It is great to see people making money with this.
For me I am stuck at payment processing. US, Canada and UK people should have no problem as shopify offer shopify payment .. But for others.. Do you have problem with the payment setup?

Thanks for your contributions here. Me likey. :)

Everyone is really pushing ClickFunnels and Shopify, because they're excellent platforms.

But what about Wordpress using Woocommerce plugin??
Isn't this a potentially viable alternative?

I know Clickfunnels and Shopify are great because you have some advanced features AND you can set them up relatively quickly. But couldn't you do the same with Wordpress?

Just asking. Does anyone know for sure??

Thanks and keep it going,
BigDaddy

I guess you could with a woocommerce plugin...I guess I just never gave woo commerce a try cause the plugin was so confusing to me. Shopify is pretty simple, I like making money in a simple manner lol
Rep Added. Thanks

As I've admitted already, I'm just coming from the info-marketing world over to ecommerce. Because of that, I want to keep things as simple as I can for myself.

I've had too many times where I got knee-deep in something only to realize I didn't know what I didn't know, or realize that technical SNAFUs screwed the hell outta me.

(Like OptimizePress for instance...OP is a great platform, but not at ALL intuitive. It took me quite a while to feel totally comfortable with it, and that was with only a limited range of pages I was using. Same thing when I eventually switched to OP2. I experimented with Thrive Builder a little bit and it was even worse...so bad I ended up refunding it.)

Now I totally realize and expect that there's gonna be a learning curve associated with shopify. But if everyone else is already using it, I figure answers to whatever questions I have will already be readily available. Or if I think something is a good idea, I figure one of the "big players" will likely have tried it already.

(I'm a firm believer in just copying what successful others are doing...I'm not out to reinvent any wheels here.)

Having said that, I'm gonna also assume that since shopify is growing so dang big, that there's gonna be a lot of native functionality, tools, etc that's gonna make it a good ecommerce platform overall. Like I would assume they're trying to learn and adopt stuff amazon is doing for example.

Does woo commerce? I'm sure it probably does. Does it on the same level that shopify will / does? I have no idea, though if I had to bet, I'd say it doesn't.

I really don't know, though. I could be wrong across the board - this is all just my thought process as someone who's getting into the game.
@noob14: Thanks - I appreciate you sharing your thoughts and insights!!

I think there's a lot of us who are 'getting into the ecom game' now.
It certainly seems like there's plenty of courses now popping up to supply the demand!

Even after all this, I'm only about halfway thru video 5 of this course!
Seems like I got stuck in there somewhere. But I'll get through it soon and put it to use.

I've gotten quite good at using Instabuilder 2, Thrive Builder, and Profit Builder.
So I'm sure that using Shopify's page builder should be pretty straightforward.

The area I've got to master is the main stuff: Research, choosing the right products to sell,
and - the big one - FB Ads and Retargeting!

But I feel that the biggest thing is to just DO it (like Shia LeBeouf says lol)!!

So within a few days' time, I intend to have a much better handle on things.

To all: What's YOUR biggest challenge with this ecommerce "thing?"
