Want to thank EVERYONE here for all their contributions. Truth be told, I've not gone through the whole course, nor even the whole thread yet. But I'll be back posting (Big Buddy's idea of this being a discussion is a great one) and repping everyone soon.

Was wondering, though - has anyone used a model like this as a lead-in to get people purchasing digital products / memberships?

Think the whole Survival Life / Digital Marketer / Ryan Deiss credit card knife or matchless lighter leading into their prepper newsletter. I believe Tanner Larsson did (does?) this kinda thing in the gun niche, and others have done stuff like this in the dog niche, as well.

Jon Mac did it too and Russell Brunson too with jewelry and free book niche,in fact every serious pro is doing it :)
