that's not the point here... it's great that people share coupons... whether they are 100% free or 50% off...
and BBHF is a great place to get more exposure for your courses...

the problem is the ripping... most courses are awesome with great information unlike wso's or other products...
you wouldn't want people to rip your courses? would you? especially when you already provided free seats...

once we regulate this section we are back on track... instructors get to share their courses and get exposure and we get
to enroll for free...
We should stop ripping UDEMY. We all know how hard to create a good course and place it on UDEMY.

They almost stop getting students when a RIP is shared.

Just my thoughts. :)
i think we should move this section to super vip thats way it stays a bit more private

coupon codes can stay public, but the rips if any should be vip in my opinon
I don't see that as a problem. I'm currently preparing some courses that I'll likely publish on udemy. I don't much care if they're ripped because the people who rip and share rarely buy anyway. And it's not too difficult to include extras that only paid students get to see.

There's nothing to stop anyone paying for courses they find useful...
yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion man... on a serious note. you might not care
but most people will... i agree that most people who use ripped courses are not going to buy anyway
but some will... and we are also talking about the exploitation of the 100% free coupons...
you get the course for free anyway so why ruin this exchange?
It's not just my opinion. e.g. Brendon Burchard says the same, and he makes a fair bit of cash :-)

More times than not people miss out on the free coupons...
sure... "yeah, well, that's just like, your opinion man... " - is a reference from a movie called
"the big Leboski"... i'm sure there are others who agree with you.

some people don't mind since they still make a lot of money... but others do... and i personally think there's a difference
between udemy courses and wso's for example... wso's are usually rehashed crap but these course are usually very professional...

sure, some coupons gets sold out... but you get new ones as well all the time... so why stop the flow?
we are starting a snowball effect... people will gradually stop sharing coupons because they know that
people will rip their courses...
O.k. time to throw my 2 cents in.
I'm on this sub forum every day of the week. usually more than once. (not as a collector, like some are). so I think my input should have merit or at least substance.

first off, yes ripping is a bad idea, morally speaking. but scan the threads, guys! NOBODY RIPS! ok, yesterday, one guy did but that is one outta HOW MANY?!
rampant ripping IS NOT an issue on BBHF/udemy section.

second, the is no worry about instructors griping (gasp!). not ONLY are the coupons public (in a sense), but I have seen regular coupon sites and other non BH sites where they also have sections specific for udemy. AND from what I've seen, a very high % of coupon codes are from REDDIT, which gee, isn't that a major public social sharing site? so outside of ripping, which is VERY VERY infrequent, we are norm.

by the standards your using, we should also stamp out all the torrent sites too. because there's a helluva lot more ripping going on there, my friends...

as was mentioned, the instructors would be wise to add the extra perks udemy offers to put in the courses, which would make ripping substandard in comparison to the actual course. (plus those who got aripped copy, would be compelled to GET the course if they liked it well enough).

5. AND THIS, IMO, IS A POSSIBLE REAL ISSUE-
I think the reason we got on instructors radar and collar is because somehow our udemy subsite has gotten a bit viral. something has drawn the public's attention. if you scan the posts here, you see there are a strong flock of newbees since october. and they only frequent the udemy section. Where are they all coming from? I got nothing against newbees except when you open a door that wide, you end up getting quite a few idiots in the mix too. I'll refrain from explaining why some are idiots. Let's just say, they're not family.

to me, I think that's a hole we need to patch(#5), otherwise it's just gonna get worse.
WE MUST STOP RIPPING .. because it is very harmful for the courses owners .. posting coupons is fair enough for us and for the owners because we get the chance to test it and the owner get the exposure and advertising and when he think he got enough from it they always change the codes ..
Cool Cool Cool
i agree with most of your points... but if this ripping continues you should expect less coupons...
not only here, everywhere...

i don't mind new people, they are welcome with open arms... the fact that we are growing means that
the courses get more attraction and so people see that giving out courses helps them sell more and get reviews...

the problem is the ripping... it's a new problem and guess why instructors are talking about the forum right now?
because they are afraid this will happen to their courses as well...

the coupon sharing has been going on for a while now and nobody had any problem with it...
we need to regulate this section and everything will get back to normal...

exactly... the problem is that without a moderator everyone can do whatever they want... so a section moderator is a must...
we need to stop this new problem right now...
