it is still working good. I use it on Mac PC. Nothing to do with Google Chrome at my Imac PC. It is a desktop software. And in my language. If it works... it works... :)

Yes, I see it is an app - but is also requires the chrome addon:

This is exactly why I told folks right away TO USE THE JAR FILE I PROVIDED A LINK TO.

Just a little bit of info to update this thread...
Wanted to grab a paid course tonight, so after trying Allavsoft on the older PC, having it fail - updating it and having it fail again - I got Udeler on the Linux PC.
It comes as an appimage file for Linux which means it just runs from that - needs no installation.

So - this very minute=>
I'm currently running Udeler under Linux to grab a paid course !!

Thus far I am impressed - it allowed me to easily make the settings as I desired, logged me in via email and PW, and it seems to grab everything including the subtitle files, which I always need due to my poor hearing.

It even loads a great list of all subscribed courses and each one gets an entry like the 1st attached screenie - the 2nd screenie shows its side menu.

This one is definitely a keeper !!

Thanks smithnowt, for the info I use Allvasoft for downloading Udemy courses, but one of the annoying traits is that you have the ref no at the front and the title at the end of every download, so I used to edit and delete them, then I found a nifty little program called Ant Renamer what used to take me ages is now done in minutes.
Hope you find as useful as me.
This program can rename large amounts of files and folders in few clicks. It only modifies files/folders names:

Changing extension
Replacing character strings by others
Inserting a character string
Moving characters
Deleting several characters
Enumeration
Name creation with mp3's Tag (ID v1.1)
Name creation with file's last modified date and time
Random names creation
Case change (uppercase, lowercase, first letter of each word in uppercase, ...)
Take names from a list/file
Use of EXIF info
Regular expressions

There are several levels to this discussion now I think...

The top level as I see it is really about Allavsoft as compared with Udeler;
Aside of Allavsoft needing to be updated so often to just work - it also does NOT get all the materials from courses, but Udeler does get everything.

Next is the renaming...
With Allavsoft that was really needed because the filenames from its downloads were just uselessly absurd and immensely long...whereas Udeler does a much better job at that as well, and frankly I usually just rename them as 1.mp4, 1a.mp4, etc. - which is very easy to do with Gprename (Linux) which is what I now use if I need to - and speaking of renamer apps...

I did try Ant Renamer in the past (prior to becoming a full time Linux user) and found that it was not as good for my uses as an older one that was possible to just copy and use - as in truly 'green' software, but I don't even use that app anymore unless it is needed inside my XP VM.

As Berlinerin suggested - you would do well to give Udeler a spin if you are able to - it really is THAT good !!

There's lots of info in this thread and maybe it has fallen too far down to be visible, so here's a little update:

I still use Udeler pretty much exclusively for grabbing any pewdemy courses;
My go-to app for beating megasuck is still JDownloader.
The only exception to that is when I (seldom) have a few smaller things to grab from megasuck and then I'll use Megabasterd instead.

Related note:
Mostly I don't DL very much anymore just because piling up more and more info just assures that it will be forgotten and/or lost which does not help me in my quest for simplicity.
