RE:
I am hosting with Hostgator and will need to move a few sites with you. I understand you will help me.
Now, the question is, Hostgator tells you unlimited storage and unlimited bandwidth, but it's not so. In fact they are counting your storage capacity in nodes. So for them there is a limitation in storage, in fact. As to bandwidth, if you have a forum script, for example, that uses a little bit more of bandwidth than they consider normal, they will just ask you to remove the forum or will limit your bandwidth and your script will not work. What about your service? Is unlimited really unlimited (or with logical limitations, of course, I do not intend to use up the resources to the point others cannot use the server,)or what are the limitations?

I understand you will help me.Hello, Comparing to Hostgator we provide much more resources for the same money then they are giving, we can even compare our amount of resources that we are giving with middle range VPS for example. We had a lot of people that have moved their site from Hostgator, or some VPS providers and stayed with us. When we say unlimited, we mean that we are not putting any limits on bandwidth, disk space, number of domains etc., so you can focus on your main business. We do have some other limits, like CPU, RAM, number of processes, number of connections, inodes etc., so it's most likely that you will hit those limits if you have very big or abusive site to. You can check also our TOS for more information. After all you can try our service at 90% off for first month, and if there is any problem we can even refund 100% of your money. |

RE:
iRakic,
I do understand that you are providing more resources. But when you say that you have limits on CPU,RAM, number of processes, number of connections and inodes, you are in fact saying that you ARE limiting the use of the account in terms of resources used and the moment the number of inodes (like in Hostgator) go above the number you have put as a limit, you are in fact limiting the storage. All this is just a play on words. I do understand that you cannot give a totally free use, but the use of the word 'unlimited' is just as misleading in you as it is in Hostgator. Unlimited in hosting does not exist.

(11-20-2014 12:37 PM)Ricardito Wrote: iRakic,What we have advertised as unlimited, that's what we provide. You can look at it as all you can eat restaurant. They for sure don't allow you to stay there and eat for 50 days for example. Like in hosting they also provide some kind of fair usage policy. Having truly unlimited hosting is like having a dedicated server, so I guess you understand that it's not possible for anyone to provide it for few bucks. Inodes is basically number of files/folders, so comparing it to disk space is like comparing apples to oranges. For example you can have a single file that can fill whole disk space, or you can have millions of files that will use only several mega bytes. Having no limits at all on multi-user system (shared hosting) is like anarchy. I would like to hear about truly unlimited hosting for few bucks that have a decent uptime. To summarize, EVERYTHING truly unlimited on shared hosting is not possible. Staying profitable in webhosting business and not having crappy service is not something that goes with truly unlimited hosting as you said. |
