It is rare that I see one Ebay WSO or other product in a year that is acceptable. I have seen two in the past few weeks that were excellent - and this is one of them!
For those of you that think Ebay is so riddled with problems and refunds - stay away! AND stay poor!
This author is right on in his assessment of arbitrage being an extremely profitable way to make sales and money on Ebay.
I don't do Ebay as a regular deal, but when I do - this is exactly the model I use. It is extremely low risk and super-high reward! I have used it for over 20-years with insane success and ZERO failures. Every time I decide to do it, I make an easy 10-20 grand in PROFIT.
EDIT: Actually, the above example is an account of only one item - usually the best performing one. When I do this, I sometimes do only one or two items - other times I would have as many as 20-40 items listed at a time. Some would do almost as well - others a few less sales - and of course, the occasional dog (which didn't cost anything).
I'll leave it up to you to do the math.
People want to cr*p on this idea because it sounds hard and seems like you are asking for problems. Nothing could be farther from the truth - it is drop-dead easy!
But it is definitely some work.
And you can do it anytime - anywhere - with ZERO money and ZERO inventory. All you have to have the knowledge about how and where to source products and what they are selling for and where to sell them - then list them with some modicum of intelligence on Ebay.
Arbitrage isn't new (as one other poster mentioned) - it has been around for centuries. All that this big word means is you buy or control an item for less than you can sell it for in another market.
This ebook is well-written and clearly outlines exactly what to look for. It is also easy to overlook the extra guide he provides, which is geared to help anyone that is new to Ebay with lots of the nuts and bolts. It too is outstanding at around 70-pages, while the main guide is only 19-pages.
He includes software I have not even tried yet, but I doubt most will need it - I don't.
So before you naysayers decide to p*ss on something you clearly don't understand, I suggest you try this and find out for yourselves how easily you can make money doing it.
My grade for this: 5 / 5 stars.
I don't hand out 5-stars unless something is very well-done. (Only one last year.) This is worth it - even without the software, and even though it has been written about before.
People look down on Ebay because it is work - even when they can get fat doing it. I hope the people who think that way keep being lazy!

I will give you a glimpse - not the specifics!
If I were to put together an Ebay infoproduct about my specific model, it would sell four 4 figures! (NO, I HAVE NOTHING FOR SALE!)
1.) I don't test anything - I already know it is selling on Ebay or I don't list it!
2.) I sell passionate and/or desperate hard-to-find consumer consumables.
3.) Any category qualifies as long as it meets the criteria in #2.
Examples:
Item 1
Diet Supplement
Unit Cost: $5.90
Selling Price: $34
Net: $16.13 per sale (after all fees for listing, processing, etc.)
Units sold: 812
Time period: 68 days (SELLOUT)
Net sales: $13,097.56
Item 2
Home Decor
Unit Cost: $6.96
Selling Price: $26
Net: $10.07 per sale (after all fees)
Units Sold: 344
Time Period: 64 days (SELLOUT)
Net Sales: $3,464.08
These are exact numbers and these are two examples out of 34 total products listed for sale. Item one was the top seller and item 2 was in the middle of the pack. 86% were sold in BIN auctions. All 34 of the items were sold until sellout!
Again, you can do the math - this is as much as I will give away.
For the crybabies held up by the scary thought of refunds - I had 3 total refund requests out of XXXXX sales over 90 days. Only one was granted.
These products are everywhere - all you have to do is research, assess carefully - think - then act - quickly.
I don't worry about competition and buy ZERO listing extras. It is rare I use more than one photo! I DO NOT use listing templates. Every account I have opened has gone PowerSeller in the fastest time possible - 90-days.

Good for you! That is more than what most will do with this allegedly "magic" info.
Set it up to make one sale a day - then find 10 more items like that - or 20 - or 30 - or 100.
DON'T stop with Amazon - this stuff is all over the place!
Then you will realize this is a great gig - $90 a day - then $180 a day - then ?!
Contrary to the beliefs of those that have never done this, but choose to guess and spout crap about things they know nothing about - there are more people than you think doing this on Ebay.
Their one common trait - they don't give up because the boxes aren't right or you are violating someone's TOS (you aren't) or fees or any other nonsensical bullsh*t.
The bottom line is those are EXCUSES - reasons to make the little things into obstacles to avoid doing anything at all.
The successes in business - any business - don't make ridiculous assumptions about what customers will or won't do.
The last time I did this ended the end of December. All those transactions resulted in feedback of 99.8%. I must have screwed a lot of people over to have lost that .02%

And I am right - I have invoices and sales figures to prove it. (None of which you will ever see.) And the refund rate is an exact number as of about one-week ago - the last time I looked.
I don't know where my buddy Thor is at, but he had a direct and blunt way of dealing with newbie-leechers that are "dead-weight" members and have never ONCE contributed anything - except perhaps degrading, cynical comments.

Posting here about moneymaking topics with so many newbies and worthless spectators dilutes the value of the discussions - and is hugely inefficient from a time perspective.

For those of you so desperately seeking the answer to the price/receipt question, take a look at post #104 on the WF. Funny how sh*t like that just mysteriously shows-up from out of nowhere. There is more than one way to tweak this arbitrage model and eliminate the causes of this fear epidemic, but it takes a little out-of-the-box thinking.
Being original and taking action are such real b*llbreakers, huh?
It is a really tough thing to commit to selling a $20-$50 (or more) item on Ebay with the immense risk the buyer will ask for refund or call you bad names for making a profit!

Several of you also "get" that I don't use tricks on Ebay or anywhere else - I don't need them, and you don't either.
The majority of buyers are absolutely thrilled to get your emails. Most sellers don't bother to explain or acknowledge anything.
This is a major failing and one more reason why you can and will stand-out. I cannot begin to count the number of buyers that sent me a personal THANK YOU when I sent them my message.
No one does this - even when they stock the goods they sell. They do not bother to build customer rapport or trust.
Let me tell you a true story that happened the end of December. (This sh*t happens all the time too!)
A buyer got her purchase and the box was water-damaged. Several of her items were distressed too.
She sent me an email telling me:
"FYI, these don't travel well. The box was water damaged and the XXXX were melted. I just wanted to let you know for future reference."
I was thinking: Oh crap! Here is a negative FB comment coming.
So I sent her a message telling her I would re-ship replacements for any damaged items free of charge.
Here was her reply:
"Oh no! I was just letting you know and wanted to see if you would offer to take care of the problem. I live in Buffalo and we have been in a blizzard. I am surprised they got here at all.
Please keep the XXXX. I still got six-ish out of the eight. With all the stuff going on here, they are better off in your care. I will leave positive feedback for you.
Thanks!"
This happens all the time! This was a buyer with 4058 positive feedbacks! Do you think she was testing me about what I wrote in the pre-emptive strike email?

People just want to know you are there to take care of issues. I call it "Seller Testing" and high feedback buyers will do this all the time. People with several hundred to several thousand feedbacks are smart, savvy buyers that just want occasional pampering and signs that you give a sh*t about their business.
This is why my pre-emptive strike tactic works so well. People DO NOT care when you are honest and upfront!
All they want is their stuff - in good, working and cosmetic condition - period!
Sure, there will be the occasional super-anal buyer. What do you do?
Give them back their money and move on. It ain't worth fighting with them, and getting into hassles with buyers costs you way more in terms of time and money.
Here was my reply today to a fellow BBHF member that doesn't get this whole "box" thing:
"You are making an assumption customers care about the box.
It is your conclusion - not theirs. The huge majority of people are thankful to get what they want in good condition.
Refunds usually don't happen when they get their item(s). They happen when they are not delivered, delivered damaged, or they get the wrong products.
Most don't return an item because of the box. And it does have a gift receipt with no prices. So their only option is to check prices - only the vast majority do not care.
So you are making your customer's mind up for them. You are making a supposition customers act the way you do. You also make the assumption customers shop on both Ebay and Amazon. And that they shop solely based on price.
All of those suppositions are wrong."
Don't pre-suppose, conclude or assume you know how buyers will react! People are a lot more understanding and accepting than you think.
The most powerful component I use in any business endeavor - but especially Ebay - is just plain, simple, ordinary ...

Both of you are prototypical Ebay buyers. I have gotten items I purchased in everything from condom boxes to child carrier cartons. (No, I was not buying a child carrier - I don't have kids.)
So both of you are 100% correct about the boxes being a total non-issue. I don't care and most Ebay buyers don't either.
As for your findings - Bravo!
You have taken action and found a few things you can make money on.
A few users of the system have not yet found one product and you found 6!
That is terrific - really wonderful! I may have to inquire about your availability as an outsourced member of my team! Smile
$11 is not bad at all - I shoot for a minimum of $10 net on every listing, but will take less if/when it is a high volume seller on Ebay.
The other critical point is that you did not confine your search to Amazon. I am not being the slightest bit facetious when I say I literally trip over salable products every time I go shopping.

Also DON"T ask me how much money you can make OR what it takes to get to $1,000 or $10,000 per month.
I don't know you, your work ethic, your skill or commitment level. I can tell you when I do this personally, I have always gotten way into HIGH five-figures per month. (NO I won't tell you how much, so don't ask!)

Here is another calculator for Ebay fees that I began using much more in December. It is easier and clearer to use. The advantage to using this one is you can do "what-if" analyses and immediately see whether items will be profitable or not. And it is not quite as frantic a GUI as the one the author and I were using.
You can change any variable to determine selling price, shipping, how much you should pay for items, etc.

One question though: If I were to set-up a new sellers account and a new PayPal account, would I still need to pay for my customers item using my own money? (Since you can't get access to the customers payment until they claim delivery or until 21 days have passed)
A: Yes you will have to cover the purchase IF you have a new Ebay or PayPal account. You are on probation (even though they don't use that word) until they see you conducting business on THEIR terms.
Tip to expedite it:
If you are selling items you stock: ALWAYS buy your postage through Ebay and print the shipping labels for the items using them. Delivery Confirmation costs you 20 cents extra - and you, the customer, and most importantly - Ebay knows exactly when it gets delivered.
If you are doing the arbitrage model: Always enter a tracking number provided you by Amazon into the field provided on the sales summary in the MY EBAY dashboard. The allows everyone to see the shipment is legit and can again know when it is delivered.
They may tell you to get your funds, the customer must leave feedback first or 21-days MUST pass. This is one of many reasons you DO NOT leave feedback until they have left it for you.
Some will still move slowly. I have another tactic for this if you find you need it.
It sucks, but Ebay and PayPal are risk averse - they have been burned lots of times. Looking at it from their perspective, you are high risk.
Again, It sucks but this is the way it is. According to ANY merchant services company, if you sell anything online, you are classified as a Category 3 merchant - high risk. This puts you on the same level as topless bars.

So there are limits.
I will answer the question this last person asked about Buy.com which was bought by Rakuten.com not long ago. I have not done business with them under their new ownership. I DO NOT know if or how they are dealing with gift receipts or if they even still offer them.
This site is a compendium of different vendors under one umbrella. So you may need to adjust how you do business with them, and incorporate the changes into your Ebay sales plan. You all need to walk before you can run, so stick with Amazon for the purpose of learning how to do arbitrage - at least for now.
All of us know that vendors and products are both moving targets. What existed yesterday can disappear tomorrow. This is one of the things that makes doing business online a challenge and fun at the same time.
But let's say you cannot get answers to your questions from the site. This is why we are entrepreneurs - we change our focus or re-frame offers when we find products that do and don't meet our criteria.
When something changes, and the situation becomes unprofitable, we move on to other resources.
It's that simple. Goods and ways to sell them on Ebay are everywhere. Don't sweat the stuff that becomes a hassle.
You don't need to do it - just move on to the next thing.

Thanks for the kind words too! Ebay is not my primary business, but I have done it for a long time as a way to see what John Q. Public was thinking. As I have mentioned, I outsource most of this, but carefully trained the people I have to conduct themselves as I would.
But intelligence about the man/woman on the street is priceless. Ebay makes me a lot better copywriter and marketing consultant.
Admittedly, I peek in often at Ebay because I have always been the curious sort. My main gig for over 35 years has been copywriting. It is my first love and, even though I am actually semi-retired, I maintain a few clients that won't let me go. Of course, this is a nice problem to have.
Over the course of my career, I estimate my copy has been directly responsible for over $500 million in consumer sales. So I know a few things about human nature, conversions, marketing, etc.
Ebay doesn't seem like a fit until you put the fact that I am a copywriter together with selling goods on one of the top ten e-commerce websites in the world. When you put those two together, it hopefully makes sense. It is sort of like putting a T-Rex in with the sheep (a la Jurassic Park - the movie if you remember).
Now I do lots of stuff because the projects interest me - and few strictly because of money. I also create products of all kinds and do Kindle, which has proven to be profitable so far.
And yes - if you aren't passionate about the things you do, life is too short to be doing them. You are better off being your own man or woman and failing at 100 things you are passionate about. So I love the things I am involved with.
We only come this way one time. If you wasted the day today - you can never get it back.

After my last post, as you may have guessed, I don't like unanswered questions. I might decide to use Rakuten.com (formerly buy.com) for arbitrage tomorrow, so I wrote their customer service team.
All it takes is writing to these people and getting your own answers folks. It took them about one-hour to send me the following personal response about gift receipts:
"Thank you for contacting Rakuten.com Shopping!
I am glad you are interested in shopping with us. The recipient will receive the package along with the packing list only. Your official invoice can be printed online for your convenience.

So there is your answer about Rakuten.com (buy.com). Most answers are an email or phone call away guys.
And I don't know if any of you have given it any thought, but since you are buying stuff from sites that almost exclusively sell to customers - they bend over backwards to take care of you!
Many wholesalers couldn't give a d*mn - especially since your orders appear small-time to them!

The latest Update
I bought and have finished reviewing the seller's first monthly digest. At $17, all I will say is that it was a waste of time and money. Everything his WSO was, this is not. I am not continuing with the subscription.
I expected more and the digest was a major disappointment from this seller.
For those that want it, I will probably start a separate thread and post it. I have clearly hijacked this one, but the OP seemed fine with it and was interested in the info too.

@maga and everyone that has asked the question about PayPal personal, premier or business. Start with personal or premier, but if you do this successfully, you will eventually need to get a business account.
So Premier is best to get going quick. For each level, PayPal WILL make you jump through a couple of extra hoops.
A BIG PayPal Secret!
The more sales and money you process, the more times you can call THEM and ask for a lower processing rate! That can translate into thousands of dollars annually.

I cannot remember the last time I worked only 40-hours in one week. (Sometimes, I click-off that many hours in just a couple of days!)

Reps are your currency of appreciation! I could care less about huge numbers of reps, but when any member spends their time and gives their expertise while not asking for anything, saying thanks should be automatic.

They are not the professional ones I make for clients or marketing. They are homemade, amateurish (at best), low-res, unscripted, fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants, unedited, etc.
In other words, they s*uck! (I even had a couple of major brain f*arts in the third one that I am still laughing about. Hey, it was 3:00 am!)
But the objectives were SPEED and delivering good information to you quickly!
I wanted to get the info up - and didn't care how goofy I sounded or unprofessional they were. And they were made specifically for you guys!

But more importantly, you only screw yourselves if you share them. (And I won't make any more of them either - which is just as big a consideration.)
Okay, back to the state of the union as it relates to Ebay arbitrage.

But about the person (or persons) you wrote about and my handling of it, we must disagree.
The only thing I thought about afterward was that I didn't take strong enough action!
I only ask for one thing in doing this:
An open mind and thanks from members for putting info here that can make people very comfortable and even - wealthy.
And this is info that you cannot get or share - ANYWHERE - at ANY price! And it takes lots of time to do this stuff.
I have sent my contribution to every soul that has asked - zero feedback, new, foreign members, etc.
I have not discriminated against a single person that asked, save for just a couple that:
1.) Showed disrespect or openly called me a liar
or
2.) Had failure mindsets before ever seeing the materials

I am a movie "super freak!" I love all the great oldies and great but semi-recent films too. We only produce (globally) perhaps 2-3 movies each year worth watching now.
But here is the point:
In this 1957 B&W classic, Tyrone Power is in charge of a lifeboat in the middle of the Atlantic after his vessel has struck a mine and sunk.
There are only a few survivors - but they are crammed into a tiny lifeboat and there are people in the ocean clinging to ropes on the side of this "dingy."
It is barely afloat - in the middle of the freakin ocean!
During the course of the movie, he has to make choices about who gets cast-off and dies, and who lives.
Some of his choices were interesting, but to make a long story short ...
Sometimes, you just have to cut a man loose - even when you are not sure s/he will be of value or can contribute.
This dude wanted to hang off the side of my lifeboat - with an attitude that would curdle milk.
So this is the case here - there are too many people that are serious about this and just need a helping hand.
They don't have any preconceived notions about failing.
They just want to do this - or at least try like h*ell!
"Okay, I will bite." This is one of those statements that immediately says:
I don't believe your b*llshit and it probably won't work, but I will read it - even though I probably won't do a d*mn thing about it.
Further, you add the words "trepidation about it" before you have even seen the data, and this is a failure mindset. NO successful person I know has EVER used those expressions.
It is the same as calling a taxi and the driver telling you:
I will give you a ride, but we will probably have an accident.
I have NO time for this. But here is the even sadder part - all anyone had to do was type me an email and say:
Hey dude - I f*cked up - would you mind sending me the link and info.
That is all it would have taken. It's too late for these few to do that now.
I am one of the nicest people you will ever meet, until you mess it up.
Then I am going to do my Bruce Banner thing and the Hulk will emerge.
He is the beast that indiscriminately smashes and kills everything in sight.
Remember the words from the TV show: "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry."
