If anyone is interested this is how you reset the trial version but make sure to do it BEFORE the 30 day trial expires:
1) You need to delete a file from your registry so in your start menu type in regedit.
2) Once your registry editor comes up click on Edit and in the drop down menu click on Find.
3) Now in the search box type in dromjmfile and click Find Next.
4) Now delete the dromjmfile.
5) Open and run Camtasia as an administrator (you only have to run as admin the 1st time after you reset).
6) Your 30 day trial should now be reset.
DON'T FORGET...do this BEFORE the trial expires....if you forget you'll have to uninstall and then reinstall Camtasia...not a big deal but it's just easier to remember to reset it before.

Or...
Step 1:
Open Camtasia Studio 8 via your Start Menu.
When the program opens click on 'Help' in the top menu, scroll down to and click on 'Check for updates'.
In the pop-up dialogue window, click the link to go to the TechSmith site, download and install the latest version.
#####

I had installed this a few months back and it was working great...until today...it wouldn't open and said I must have got it from a 3rd party...then offered a $99 purchase option
I have uninstalled Camtasia and will go through this whole process again...but has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks
