Both not working for me neither with 8.4.4 nor 8.5.2 - regardless of serials, keygens and so on.
And yes, I know how to edit my hosts file. I even blocked Camtasia from my firewall.
I always get "We could not validate your license with our servers but you can continue using Camtasia during your trial period." after startup.
Any chance to get instructions how to get this baby up and running?
Instructions are provided in the OP and post #50 just for your convenience since we knew you would have problems!
Now ask yourself a serious questiion and be honest with yourself.
Self- are all these hundreds of members that this works perfectly for lying or is it possible that I am NOT following the very simple instructions so I can use it also? hmmmmmmmm .....
Hi
As last step after installation, you can also go to C:\ProgramData\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 8 and make the RegInfo file Read Only. Because after the second restart of the software, sometimes the RegInfo File is empty, this step
solves this problem.

Thanks for the suggestion bup66. I'll try that when I uninstall and reinstall (again) tomorrow. Never had any trouble installing previous versions but this one on a new computer is giving me grief. Thought it finally took, but then just like you said, on the 2nd restart, the validation message came back. I checked the RegInfo file and the values are empty. At least I learn new things every time I go through the process...
