This is just a mere snippet of what you will find on this site!

It's cold and rainy here today and I thought I'd play around looking for a new (non-Persian) download site. Well, honey ... have I got a treat for you!

Layna's Note: Some of you will already know about this, so please don't post to say so. But let me ask: When the hell were you going to share this with others?!

I was consumed by all the great stuff there and decided to download the Practical Homicide Investigation book, thinking that it could give me some quick reference to how crime scenes are processed in reality because I'm working on a psychological thriller at the moment.

Well, let me tell you ... this book is not for the faint-hearted. I quickly "thumbed" through the PDF to find page after page of gruesome, grisly scenes of actual homicide victims in crime scene photo footage. And here I was happy to just read a book on the methods used in crime scene investigation.

It will come in handy I'm certain but I will just have to maneuver my way around the really graphic morbidity.

I need to be clear...

Some of these downloads may not be suitable for younger viewers ... or even you, if you're easily offended, squeamish or otherwise highly sensitive.

That being said, you will certainly find a little bit of everything so there's something for everyone. Just pass on whatever you come across that you personally may find off-putting.

Just be forewarned.

You can search this site by:
* Views

...I'll just stop there by saying, "This site can keep you busy!"

With the recent death of Stephen Hawking, the English theoretical physicist, cosmologist and author, I thought it appropriate to showcase his The Illustrated Theory of Everything best-seller that is also available for download ...

Notice, too, in the image above, that you can get the download in formats OTHER than PDF. To the middle-right of the screen, you will have options to download files in:

* ABBYY GZ (whatever that is!)
* DAISY (again ... never heard of it!)
* E-PUB
* FULL TEXT
* KINDLE (azw - the Kindle proprietary format)
* PDF
* SINGLE PAGE PROCESSED JP2 ZIP (another unusual format)
* TORRENT
* SCANDATA.XML
* GIF (I suppose that's just an image capture of the cover ... I dunno)
* META.SQLITE
* DJVU

So, there ... you have it.

You'd do yourself a favor by starting from scratch (see the link at the start of this post) and working your way through all the magnificent treasures you will find on this site.

IMHO: If you don't have a few hours to spend there, please, put this off until another time.

This site is just that deep with downloads.

As always, I invite questions and comments (I appreciate your reps, too!).

I edited this post to remove the question about making the search results less intensive. I've since found all the tools one can use to delimit the year and customize the results you get by subject/keyword, creator, media type, etc. Just look along the upper left corner and use the little tick-boxes. If doing so brings you fewer to no results, you may want to uncheck the boxes and work through all the results.

YOU CAN REGISTER FOR AN ACCOUNT, TOO!

Updated 3-21-2018 to Correct an Error

You can register for an account at this site. Doing so gives you the ability to BORROW books. As you know, a borrowed book needs to be returned...even if it's digital.

So after 14 days, you will be prompted to return the book. I don't know the process; I've borrowed one book but to return it, I'm unsure if you need to click a link or if it becomes automatically disabled. When I find out, I may update this post.

I earlier posted that you could use a converter tool to make a PDF of the e-pub title you borrow. I now realize that you shouldn't try to do that. Fact is, maybe you can't (I haven't tried yet).

Altering something you borrow could be against the terms of use and could get your account banned.

So, please disregard my advice here about converting borrowed books.

Just be aware that you must also download and register Adobe Digital Editions just to borrow the books from this site.

So, by all means ... register for an account and get access to even more of the treasures there!

To register: Go to the site and click Login. Under the login text field, you will see the word Register. Click that and fill in the blanks to set up your account.

Now, go visit and have fun!

I'm off to go get more stuff...
