Thanks Perfect 10
@retrokitz: Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, it's my very first. It's been percolating in my head for years and finally, I am putting it onto paper.

Great one Layna. FYI some artists post their music on here too. Not latest recordings obviously, but I recall some posting recordings from concerts and various performances.

ABBYY FineReader is an OCR software (extract text from images such as scanned pages). ABBYY GZ is the GZipped (compressed) raw XML output of the program after processing the image files.

This is a format to help alternately enabled people with reading difficulties (Digital Accessible Information SYstem).

Archive is a website I've somehow felt too generic to bookmark (similar to say Google or Amazon). Later when I'm searching for something and I find it on the site, I smack myself for not remembering Hitface , then access the content and forget about the site all over again Happydance

I've used this website on and off over the years - initially for websites (archived copy of websites which either went belly-up or to get copies of deleted pages which were publicly accessible) and then to get old books (18th century to early 20th century) - it is an invaluable resource of ancient tomes!

An example: Since you too are interested in drawing, if you search for, say, Andrew Loomis, you'll get a bunch of his works.

Searching for how websites looked in the past, use the Wayback Machine
Magic Button :

NOTE: The Wayback Machine does not keep track of every little change that happened to a website, but takes snapshots of the site over time and archives the same. You can select the year and see when snapshots were taken in that year and then access the same. In many cases, you may find images, pages missing in the snapshots, but something is still better than nothing!

@bbhmogul: Yes! I was listening to music just the other night on this site. I was amazed, too, at the wide variety of musical genres available. I've only visited the site a handful of times but I'm liking it more and more.

@feefiefohfum: Thank you for the explanation. I kinda thought (after I'd posted) that the ABBY GZ format had something to do with the ABBY Fine Reader scanning software. I appreciate you taking the time to help me better understand some of the technical stuff.

I love this forum. You learn something new much of the time!

Thanks
