Just yesterday, I posted something very, very similar to this and this morning while looking through my stats, I saw your post to this thread (in the REPS data) and as soon as I got here, I went "Awww no! I posted this in March!!! So, I'm hoping the folks here (both Moderators and members) don't get angry because my most recent (yesterday) share is so similar to this one.
I guess I just want people to realize they can maximize their time on the forum, get more of what they're looking for the first time and do things differently to fill their hard drives with premium quality shares.
The way some people use the forum is akin to being invited to a banging party but they get there waaaay too late ... after all the fun and excitement has long past.
Here's what that's like ...
* The main attraction has come and gone (whatever was shared on the thread was something you really, really wanted ... NEEDED ... but the download link is a Zippy link and they don't tend to last very long. Or --- that Zippy link is giving you the heebie-jeebies with all the pop-under screens that range from adware and malware to something being placed in your registry files. Eeeekkkkk!!!!!
* The music has died and all the guests are long-gone (last posts on the thread are dated many months --- or even years --- ago; as soon as you land on the thread, all you hear is crickets!)
* All the drinks are gone and you can tell that the food was great because all that remains is the aroma (re-upped links in the OP have died and the only recent posts are requests for re-ups)
* The floor is cluttered with streamer and confetti (others have posted mirror links but they, too, lead nowhere ... or worse, they look spammy or require a subscription to download or may even download suspicious or downright dangerous files to your computer!)
* You dine on cold popcorn and seltzer water (you make do with what you have and that means fussing with the few links available. But now you're having the hardest time because these are premium links with a free option that makes you jump through hoops ... waiting on seconds to count down or completing senseless CAPTCHA screens before you can begin the download. Even if you survive this, you may be delivered to a download page that says the file no longer exists or it has been removed by the administrators due to a violation of their terms.
* It's the wee hours of the morning and the hosts have just retired to their room (that was some party!) so you leave quietly and lock the door behind you (you know there is little chance you will ever get what you came for BUT before you throw in the towel, you desperately send a PM to the OP asking if they still have the share and can get you a download link ... but you only hear Zzzzzzz).
It doesn't have to be like this!
There are a few things you can do differently when you visit BBHF that almost ensures that you can get what you're looking for more often and almost eliminate the Being Tardy to the Party Syndrome.
