(04-05-2015 06:13 AM)California Kid Wrote: [ -> ]tiger- i have been successful in getting rid of some negative credit in the past with dispute letters. just recently, agsint the advice of most experts, i disputed a 6 year old account and got it wiped off(all equifax which seems to be the major reporting agency that most compainies use).
when you talk about an identity theft package to send to the credit reporting agencies, is this to be used to erase all debt or just some of the debt or does it depend on how the credit reporting agencies handle the identity theft package? this seems like good idea for someone who has many debt accounts they need cleared, but what about those who just have 1 or 2 debt account? wouldn't dispute letters work just as well with the creditor and reporting agency?
you are being really vague with this identity theft package. i like to research things that are interesting to me and credit repair has always been a subject of interest with me and i have even guided people in the past in how to remove their negative credit from my own research. i've researched indentity theft packages used to repair damaged credit after reading this thread but haven't really came up with anything solid. is there training somewhere for this type of method?
why do you say that dispute letters are useless? it's pretty much been the only way i have been able to remove some stuff in the past. in the past, i did have a couple accounts on my report that weren't even mine. people who had the same name is mine but different socials had debt put on my report which were the easiest to get rid of. am i assuming that the identity theft report is used in a similar fashion to get rid of the reports?

1. NEVER close credit cards, unless you have
another PRIMARY card to replace the card
you'd like to close.
2. Keep a healthy mix of good credit - Credit Cards,
Mortgage, Car Note, Bank / Personal Loan, etc.
3. Never let your Credit Card balances exceed
30% of your credit / spending limit.
4. Pay your credit card bills (NOT IN FULL) a couple
of days before the billing cycle ends for that month.
5. Always keep a running balance on your credit cards.
Yes, you will accrue interest, however, that nominal
fee will be a drop in the ocean compared to the boost
in your credit scores.
6. By having your Credit Limits raised on your cards,
you'll see an IMMEDIATE boost in credit scores.
7. Have someone add you to their cards as an
