Hey CitizenKane just a quick note with a little issue we need to address: on the main forum page under Blackhat seo and sub heading Udemy section its worded "All discussions such as REQUEST for udemy" but as rule 2 states no more REQ threads, just thinking if we can this needs changing so there's no confusion :) anyways thanks for finally getting the rules together!
Techside
Actually, I think we should just have 1 very long requests thread. I don't mind requests, I just think we don't need 1 thread for each and every request.
This whole thing is against Udemy TOS and policies. Oh yeah that federal law thingee too. I am reporting you. We have been going after people left and right for this. d*** they are some good lawyers. Good luck.
We really need a new rule stopping people continually bumping threads with pointless messages.

Is just not really not needed.
And having people continually saying that a coupon has expired.
If there's a change in status, a new coupon, or something that adds value I'm all for it.
However, I'm sick of coming in and seeing 10 posts all with a reply just saying "thanks" and I have to go through each and every one of them to see if there is any new content.
The last 17 bumps were all by maneater with a message similar to the above, and after going through it all searching for anything new, I discovered I'd just wasted my time. =[ There was nothing new at all.

[9] there will be NO ripping of courses in this section… we want instructors to share as much coupons as possible… ripping their courses after you get the course will only deter them from sharing coupons in the future. We always get similar courses from different instructors all the time… YOU DON’T HAVE TO GET ALL THE COURSES ALL THE TIME.
I have a question about this specific rule. What if the owner of a Udemy course also sells that course as a WSO? Are we allowed to share the WSO (even if it has the exact same content as the Udemy course)?

"allowed to ...." is what kids ask their mom or dad before they are old enough to use common sense. That must be why so many questions like that get ignored but I don't helping you figure out the best answer. Or is that too much risk to take? No, the odds of being right are higher than average. Anyway, since the WSO section is separate from this one, why wouldn't you include the Udemy WSO in that section too? If more people used the search feature then including it in both sections wouldn't be necessary but they don't so sharing it with the other WSO's is doing what you're supposed to do - sharing something of value with others.
If a coupon expires before you can redeem it, you have 2 choices.
A) Keep searching in case you find another one - not likely if it just expired.
B) Contact the instructor and explain how much you were looking forward to taking his course but you just can't afford the full price. Then ask if he will extend the coupon's expiration date for another week. You can agree to post a big banner with a count-down timer on different forums to get more students to take his course and you can even start a discussion aimed at getting more people to review his course.
this...people bumping a dozen old threads in a row to the top with stupid ass 'please new coupon' is just ridiculous....
how about an insta-ban for a week for any post asking for a new coupon?
@rsoncl, bad idea. Members are not banned for asking for new coupons. It just indicates that the coupon is gone and people can start searching for any new coupon.
