would you choose Templatic Directory or Listify?
Hello,

I'm not sure where to post this question, so looking for feedback.

I was all in on using templatic Directory theme with it's Tevolution plugins, and then used Listify. Do you guys have any preference or feedback on choosing one or the other option?

Personally I like the Listify theme more than Templatics, because of the layouts / UX. The Listify theme is more modern and clean looking than Templatics.

I was looking at switching to Listify until I realised that the Listify demo only works by installing 3rd party plugins. I've found many of them, but I'm still not sure how to do some basic things with Listify that are already set up with Directory; ie )
- create listing packages
- determine what content is displayed based on listing fields

Additionally, I tried working with the CSS of several of the Templatic themes but the CSS / layout structure to be difficult to modify; ie ) not straightforward to modify CSS because of the way that Templatic has broken up the template files.
I can add more thoughts later, but looking for your opinion. Have you used one or the other on a live site and why?

Thanks!

RE:
i'm actually comparing the two now on a demo server trying to balance the pros and cons of each.
Listify is very light which is nice
If templatic were to release directory as more inclusive instead of 99 plugins...that would be a FAR better idea.

Most important is speed and searchability. people need to be able to find Exactly what they are looking for and Fast.
Flipping through pages and pages of listings in a category is outdated.

RE:
Personally, from my perspective I won't purchase another theme from Astoundify. I purchased Campaignify from them. About four months later it was discontinued by them and removed from Themeforest. No support, no refund, no updates, and not working. They just bailed. Complete waste of money and resources as I then had to completely redo the site that it was purchased for. Not cool Astoundify, not cool at all.

Sorry, forgot to add that the problem with Listify could potentially be the same as with Campaignify...it's main functionality built around third party plugins.

I have downloaded Premiumpress Directory and I didn't find the layout
options for categories / single page to be as appealing as for Templatic
Directory or Listify.
Listify has the best layouts Imo, but seems more
complex to setup membership / custom field / content based on listing
level because it involves 3rd party plugins.
Aitthemes Cityguide looks good but not sure how they handle membership level / content restriction based on listing levels. Templatic Directory has the options to choose specific fields that are displayed based on a listing level and to add custom fields or post types without setting up 3rd party plugins.

One of the biggest issues with Templatic is their CSS is convoluted whereas Premium CSS is more straightforward to change the look of the site.

RE: would you choose Templatic Directory or Listify?
im interested in your directory comparisons as well.

did you consider vantage directory theme ?
some of the functions/plugins above it does not have, and in order to put categories links on the pages you have to add the html links yourself,
but it has some of the plugins/functions included that are either missing or are paid plugins in the others above.
