question about hosting sites
Hi guys. Are there any hosting sites out there that are as cheap as Hostgator that I can put up some simple sites? Everything I've come across is more expensive. Maybe somebody can point me int the right direction, thanks.

RE: question about hosting sites
Hi
I started off on hostgator, then they got taken over by another company and my websites became extremely slow. I then switched to crocweb, which I found out about via webhostingtalk forum, which I highly recommend you visit. Crocweb was just as cheap, and performed way better than hostgator. I don't know what it's like now though, since for the last few years I've moved onto VPS hosting with Knownhost. Best of luck, Sammie |

RE: question about hosting sites
HG is neither good, nor cheap.
I've shared info with others here and even posted some a while back about this topic. If you want, you may PM me and I'll share more with you.
I totally despise board spammers and spambots !!!

RE: question about hosting sites
if you aren't making money off your sites yet, then i would go the very cheap route for free hosting offers. once your sites begin to make money, i would look in to a more reliable hosting service(not cheap) but taken care of by the money you are already earning. i would then look in to some cloud hosting services. when your sites grow, i would updgrade to a vps.
i wouldn't sweat the unreliability of cheap or free hosting until you start making money from your sites. if you insist on paying about the same as host gator, then i would try to research a reseller of a reliable hosting company and offer them a deal that you advertise for them on your sites for a discount. they aren't really losing any resources like bandwidth or storage when you are first starting out unless you have a crazy idea and agenda. You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone that can never repay you
