2. Make China in a difficult position, as both Russia and Ukraine are China's best friends (big winner = US / big loser = China)
3. Russia supply 48% of energy (especially gas) to Europe. It's a good opportunity to replace it with US suppliers (even though the costs are higher, and probably will cause an electricity tariff hike in the EU (big winner = US / big loser = EU and Russia)
4. Infrastructure damage caused by the war (big loser = Ukraine)

What possible strategic benefit or asset could the Ukraine be to join Nato? Absolutely none whatsoever that I can see.

We know the Russians can be paranoid but why poke the Russian bear with a stick? And if Vladimir Putin's one demand is that we state clearly that the Ukraine is not going to join Nato, why don't we do it?"

People here in the UK do not understand the provocation that has been undertaken by America and the EU are media is the pits run by the goverment.. They are doing it for two reasons:

1 the Yanks in order to justify Defence development that supports their biggest export— Weapons,
2 To take attention away from their stunningly inept running of their own Countries.

All Ukraine had to do was to declare it would not join NATO---but no, they thought they could get away with having NATO on Russia's borders.
