Thanks and +5 for the share!
Excellent! I was primarily using Inkscape to create my svg images, however I have found Vector Magic produces results a lot faster. But this is not about me, I'm elated you can use it and thanks for the rep. Cheers 42rock

I've been using this for about 3 years now, it's great for saving time, just make sure you use decent images otherwise you will see the flaw the program has. Your best bet would be to use the pen tool in Photoshop on whatever you're trying to turn into a vector, save it, then upload it into Vector Magic and run it (This is for those who don't use Illustrator).

Spot on advice, the pen tool in Photoshop is totally bad a$$. Here's a neat tutorial for anyone needing to learn how to use the pen tool or maybe brush up on their pen tool skills...

No, actually that's a good question...
There are 2 files in the zipped file you downloaded (or will download), one is the Vector Magic program itself which returns a virus total of zero. The other is the key gen and the patch. AV programs routinely return false positives regarding these types of .exe files because of the way they are coded. Basically; in this case, there is a key gen that's tied into a patcher that work together to register the program and keep if from phoning home for verification on the host server. It's an executable file and a lot of coding goes into the total process therefore, anything that doesn't conform to the AV "norm" comes back as a "positive" virus alert when in fact it is not a destructive virus at all. Hundreds of BBHF members have downloaded this software from this thread and not one problem reported. I understand that some of you are nervous; but as I've said before, I have this exact program installed (meaning these exact files) and I use this program regularly to create my own svg images, provided of course the images don't need to be edited due to poor quality first. That being said, it is not my intention to speak in a condescending manner but I do hope that I've provided a clear "layman's" explanation of a much more complicated process. If some of the more advanced coders care to weigh-in please feel free to correct me or provide whatever I may have missed.
