DaFont has organized their fonts into easy-to-navigate categories like Script, Comic, Grunge, and Handwritten. One of the site highlights is being able to type in custom text and see it previewed in different fonts before downloading. HUGE selection of PC and Mac compatible fonts.

Font Squirrel

Font Squirrel is one of the newest online free font communities. They may not be the biggest collection online, but what they lack in selection they make up for ten fold in quality. Most all of these typefaces have full alphabet, numbers and symbols available. Also, ALL the fonts on Font Squirrel are 100% free for commercial use.

Sometime back you had made a bunch of posts here at BBHF which had some sort of fancy fonts in use, and when looking here at the 'new posts' listing those titles were not readable at all and were displayed mostly with funny symbols rather than letters.
(This happened to me in using a windows browser under Linux via WINE.)

In relation to that info, here is a question, please=>
Is there some method by which users of such unique fonts may be certain that what they make with those fonts will be able to display as actual letters and numbers across different OSes and even on older browsers ??

An example of such compatibility can be amazon - which does actually make sure that its site is usable to pretty much everyone via all OSes and browsers.

I'm not sure, I'm a designer.
The only code I know for sure is html, css (bootstrap), php, and javascript.
I don't know much about Operating systems.
The only thing I check for when producing projects for clients is cross-browser compatibility.
I wouldn't be able to provide a definitive answer for you, sorry.

You very clearly have some wonderful skills and abilities which are very much admired by other (techie) folks like me, for whom those abilities are totally lacking - BUT=>
This works the other way sometimes as well and such diversity is also wonderful.

That having been said, it was my thought when I replied here that maybe you (or someone else reading here...) might know of a tool of some sort with such functions, like maybe an online font compatibility checker of some sort.

I did some searching and the closest thing I found is here:
