DaFont

Code:

DaFont has organized their fonts into easy-to-navigate categories like Script, Comic, Grunge, and Handwritten. One of the site highlights is being able to type in custom text and see it previewed in different fonts before downloading. HUGE selection of PC and Mac compatible fonts.

Font Squirrel

Code:
http://www.fontsquirrel.com/
Font Squirrel is one of the newest online free font communities. They may not be the biggest collection online, but what they lack in selection they make up for ten fold in quality. Most all of these typefaces have full alphabet, numbers and symbols available. Also, ALL the fonts on Font Squirrel are 100% free for commercial use.

Font Diner
[Image: fontdiner.png]
Code:

Font Diner has some of the best retro-specific fonts online. These fonts are great for emphasizing a vintage 1950’s or 60’s vibe. All of the fonts on Font Diner are available for Mac and PC. While you’re there check out some of their high quality pay for use fonts as well!

Font Stock
[Image: fontstock.png]

Like DaFont, Font Stock has their fonts broken up into individuals categories so it’s easier to find the one you’re looking for! Be sure to check out their huge selection of Christmas and Kids themed fonts.

Abstract Fonts

Abstract Fonts stands out for their clean interface design, huge category selection and custom font preview option! Updated often, Abstract Fonts has about 14,000 fonts for use in your video projects.

1001 Free Fonts

1001 Free Fonts has a huge repository of high quality fonts. All fonts are PC and Mac compatible and give the option for a large custom preview.

Urban Fonts
[Image: urbanfonts.png]
Code:
http://www.urbanfonts.com/
Urban Fonts is another great collection, with a big selection and multiple categories. For me, the major highlight of Urban Fonts is their substantial variety of ethnic and cultural styles including Russian, Hebrew, Japanese, Greek, Chinese and Arabic looks. Give your projects a touch of culture with these distinctive typefaces.

My Fonts
[Image: myfonts.png]
Code:
https://www.myfonts.com/tags/free
MyFonts lives up to it’s slogan, “The world’s largest collection of fonts,” but many of the fonts (and font sets) on the site are pay for use. Sort MyFonts to just show free font versions and you’ll find over 600 high quality free font downloads. The site is easily navigable and offers great tools such as a dynamic text preview that allows you to change size, color and see how the font would appear in different web browsers.

Great resource - HUGE Thanks and Respect to You Kaiser Soze !!

Please tell us also, if possible=>
Sometime back you had made a bunch of posts here at BBHF which had some sort of fancy fonts in use, and when looking here at the 'new posts' listing those titles were not readable at all and were displayed mostly with funny symbols rather than letters.
(This happened to me in using a windows browser under Linux via WINE.)

In relation to that info, here is a question, please=>
Is there some method by which users of such unique fonts may be certain that what they make with those fonts will be able to display as actual letters and numbers across different OSes and even on older browsers ??

An example of such compatibility can be amazon - which does actually make sure that its site is usable to pretty much everyone via all OSes and browsers.

Thanks

I'm not sure, I'm a designer.
The only code I know for sure is html, css (bootstrap), php, and javascript.
I don't know much about Operating systems.
The only thing I check for when producing projects for clients is cross-browser compatibility.
I wouldn't be able to provide a definitive answer for you, sorry.
Thanks Again Kaiser Soze !!

Thank You for this added info:

You very clearly have some wonderful skills and abilities which are very much admired by other (techie) folks like me, for whom those abilities are totally lacking - BUT=>
This works the other way sometimes as well and such diversity is also wonderful.

That having been said, it was my thought when I replied here that maybe you (or someone else reading here...) might know of a tool of some sort with such functions, like maybe an online font compatibility checker of some sort.

I did some searching and the closest thing I found is here:

Code:
https://www.templatemonster.com/blog/online-tools-test-website-browser-compatibility/

That site has 6 tools listed with info that may be enough for such a need.

This thread is yet another great example of your dedication in helping the community here and ALL your contributions here are very, very appreciated.
