RE: [REQ] WP Master Clone
I was told by someone that the product from http://wpmasterclone.net/ only works with an unsecured server that uses cpanel.

That would make sense to me.

It doesn't matter, the product was brought to market without basic debugging and beta testing, secure or insecure it just doesn't work universally. I got my refund. Its a pain to use and keeps you in the dark.

The most reliable backup and cloning software I have used to date is backup buddy. But even that will fail with a site that is in trouble or is under specked.

The simplest way to backup a Wordpress/Html site is to simply use cpanel and go into file manager and zip the drive and download. And to go into the SQL database and backup the database. The problems with this method is on a slow connection its a pain to download and upload the site if it is large. Also if the site is on a small server and the backup uses all the space then you run out space for the backup. Another problem I have come across is underpowered sites which have timeouts and other rubbish which halts the backup process using plugins. Also on some shared servers they muck you arround by only allowing a few simultaneous connections. So when you get your sparkly site running it seems fast, but as soon as two people or more connect to the server it stops working...

They made big promises about this software and it just failed to deliver...
