Do these types of plugins and the pages they create actually rank on Google?

Think of them as PLR... If you do nothing to it, it doesn't have much value. But you can add your own content to each page/post and easily make it unique... and then it can rank.

Are these downloads safe. How do we check to make sure there are no hidden affiliate links?

I used one of the direct download links from the official site, now its asking for Transaction ID/License Code. anyone have one or have a workaround?
