Firstly, I'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone at BestBlackHatForum for all their Support and kindness :)
A lot's happened recently, so an update is in order...
Teamed Up
I've recently teamed up with another Developer (Andy), There's
loads planned for the next few months - we've now got a few
interesting plugins (and more updates) coming out soon
WPI Blogging Strategies
The variety of people using Indexer is pretty impressive so far.
Everyone from super dark-grey autoblogging to shiny WH
review blogs are getting results so far (thanks for your emails btw).
There's often questions coming in like "
will WPI work with X
blog strategy". So I've put together a few different blogging
styles and how WPI helps you with each...
1. Whitehat Blogs
I'm sure you know that indexing and overall site
discoverability are very important. If you've (like most
blogs) got a few stubborn pages or posts that Google
won't Index - WPI will help.
The relevant posts feature will not only help with
indexation, but also user experience. Many clients have
said this is the
most relevant 'relevant posts' feature
they've seen in any plugin.
Plus of course, you can see how well Google likes your
blog. This is key information you don't normally get an
insight into. How well you're indexed is something you
need to keep an eye on.
2. Autoblogs
The name of the game here is mass-content, you want as
many posts as possible in the Google index. Indexer's
being used on some
HUGE blogs (100k+ posts) to great
effect. In these cases it's critical to have a caching plugin
installed (I like WP Super Cache).
Because WPI is doing it's smart pinging for each post, you
really get covered in bots quickly. Just keep in mind all the
usual autoblogging techniques and don't overpost with a
new blog.
3. Coupon Blogs
Indexer will help get you indexed before anyone else, as
that's the name of the game. From the moment you post
Indexer will promote your posts with it's smart pinging,
along with the RSS feature.
By getting in the index first for a new product, you firstly
benefit from the Google "hot news" type filters and
get a nice bump (especially when lots of people are
searching for the new product anyway).
Then WPI can use it's "Related Unindexed Posts" feature
to promote each WP post into the future for you.
4. Affiliate Blogs
For this you'll need numbers, as many targeted visitors as
you can - as quickly as you can. Before you can get
organic traffic you need to get indexed. Indexer speeds
this up so
you can concentrate on your business rather
than worrying about indexing.
Plus the inter-post linking WPI does will help visitors to
browse more of your affiliate posts.
So I hope that helps give you an idea of how WPI's being used
with a few different blogging strategies
A very common question... "What happens when all of your posts are indexed?"
This is a close contender for the most asked question. When your
indexation is at 100% (all posts, pages, authors, categories etc),
Indexer will constantly check your index-rate on a per-post basis.
So why do you want this?
Because Google updates it's algo multiple times a week now, on a
rolling basis. This is on top of the big super updates like Penguin
and Panda. With all these changes
WPI shows you how well
Google actually likes your blog - so you can take action if
things go south.
Also even if you're 100% indexed before getting Indexer, the
average re-crawl by Googlebot is 2-6 weeks. Quicker if you're
posting multiple times a week, but for 90%+ of blogs you're
simply not important enough to re-visit that often. Indexer will
boost this crawl rate in a big way - meaning that when you post
a new article, or change something, Google will add it to it's
cache sooner. So you can enjoy traffic sooner.
A crawled blog is a healthy blog
v1.2.0 - The next big update
I'm putting the finishing touches on the very last feature of
this update, so it'll be even more effective. I'll just leave you with
a sneak peak of the new campaigns system to get external (non-wp)
URLs indexed:
More news on this to follow shortly...
If you've got any questions about how Indexer could work for
you, just let me know.
