" I'd write a killer report and start giving it away in FB MMO and Internet Marketing groups."
It was the first thing I wrote.
Hi everyone!

I'm right in the middle of setting up Tony's Free Traffic System using GetResponse and adding my own twist to it all, but I'm kind of stuck.

Can we use GetResponse to create the entire funnel, or do we need an affiliate platform, such as Warrior + to set up our sales page and download page?

I've already used GetResponse to create my optin page and thank you page, which is modeled off of
pages that Jeremy Kennedy created. I like how he keeps everything simple and to the point.

Then, I need to create a recruitment page, set up emails and link it all together.

Please let me know what steps I should take, starting with the sales page.
I would like any and all feedback, please!
ALL comments are welcome.

PS I also have some PLR that I will be editing, to turn into my product.
I have BlueGriffon to edit my pages, but do I really need it, if I use
an affiliate platform, such as Warrior + and/or Clickbank?
Any help and feedback is most appriciated!

Hey Gigglez,
I don't use or know enough to answer your questions re. Get Response. But from what I've read, Tony is using ThriveCart these days. It's not cheap but it is a one time fee and not monthly. It has everything you would need I think and comes with a 30 day money back offer:

Powerful Affiliate Center
Subscription Saver Functionality (Dunning)
Automatic Sales Tax Calculation
Intelligent Business Projections
JV Contracts
Advanced User Management
Client Usage Rights

With regard to editing your pages, I guess that depends on what your site is going to be. Just a sales page(s) with delivery/thank you page or a full site with blog/policy pages etc. If its the former, something like ThriveCart will likely work. If it's the latter you'll need more. Hope this helps.
Good Luck,
NoJob
You guys have an interesting thread going here. I'd like to add some thoughts if you don't mind.

First, I love Tony. His stuff is solid and his sense of humor is one of his key assets. That humor is light and engaging without being crass, fake or aggressive like so many of the marketers these days. And, being able to have so much content based off of life events without completely exposing your private life is a massive golden lesson IMO. He also does a great job of showing how easy it can be.

Having said all of that, I've only bought a couple of things from him over the years even though I read most of his emails.

Two of my other favorites who are in the same vein are Duston McGroarty and Caleb O'Dowd. Caleb gets on my nerves a bit and I don't read all of his stuff, but he has some amazing nuggets when you wade into his pool. He was one of Gary Halbert's students and you can tell it, plus, he always gives value - always. He beats that value drum more than anything else. Idk... he always makes me think of that professor who was dull as dirt but it was worth listening to him because of the amazing knowledge he had.

McGroarty is very much like Shepherd without quite as much humor, and I read 99% of his emails which don't come often. He's definitely not an "email everyday" marketer although he makes serious bank. I've bought several of his trainings and find something new every time I go back through one of them. His 92 Second Ritual marries the infotainment + social + aff sales VERY well and he explains it in a nice succinct way. If you're looking for something quick, easy and using free traffic, that training would be great for you. It's here on bbhf somewhere.

He pushes value and connecting with your audience but he also sells more directly than Shepherd. It's not as aggressive a sales push as other marketers, but it is direct.

I also think that all of the methods from these guys are totally adaptable to almost any niche out there - not just MMO or IM. In fact, McGroarty shows how to adapt to other niches if you have trouble thinking along that vein. But you probably already do that without even realizing it. Research some affiliate offers and think about all the things that the product could help with, then go read through Google News. Just glance at the headlines and blurbs. I'll bet dollars to donuts that on at least a couple of them, you'll think that the affiliate product could tie into that story. Ta-da. You've just found the skeleton for an advertorial.

@drgiggelz - I used to use GetResponse for simple funnels (Optin + TYP) but am not aware of them having a setup for a sales page and affiliate setup. You could use Google Drive or Dropbox for delivery of your file. If you need something more for all of that, you may want to consider Groove. Way more features than ClickFunnels and still a healthy free option for now. You can have 3 sites for free and they have built-in sales processing if you want it (you have to apply but they also have integrations with stripe and PP) plus an email app and affiliate platform.

Hope I haven't bored you all to tears with this and that it may be helpful to somebody.
Thank you very much for the helpful and useful information, NoJob and provocado!
Max reps for both of you.
I hope to get more comments because I love this thread and the gold nuggets it produces!
Thank you everyone for all your contributions to this thread.
So Provocado, I looked at the 92 second ritual as you mentioned. It is indeed on shared BBHF.
However, the method shown in that video, according to one reviewer on here is a good way to get your pinterest account banned. Take a look at the review here:
Code:
http://bestblackhatforum.com/Thread-GET-Duston-McGroarty-The-92-Second-Ritual-578?pid=3214416#pid3214416

For those interested, the method is basically find a youtube video in your niche, embed it in your site, take an image of it and post it to pinterest. There is more, but that's as far as I went.
While quick and easy to do, this is more on the greyhat side of things.
@DacInBC - it would be helpful to know what type of content that reviewer used/saw that got the account banned. Pinterest has a history of not liking affiliate links and you CANNOT direct link to Clickbank or other similar affiliate offers, but it's the direct linking and the spammy platforms that will get you banned. They do allow direct linking to some physical marketplaces like Etsy and Amazon (banned for a while, but allowed again). As for the content, people curate and share content all the time without any issue whatsoever, myself included. There's nothing greyhat about that in and of itself. Could you make it greyhat? Absolutely. People can bastardize any method under the sun.

And I have to respectfully disagree with what he's saying about this method. However, I have never used the method *exactly* the way that the reviewer is saying. I curate and share content like I'm sharing with friends. Yes, I find a video and yes I write a small summary - I tend to use text links to offers rather than banner links. Sometimes I create a quick post image in Canva that may take me 30 seconds to create. Share the image if you don't want to share the video. For some niches I have simple sites done like Dredge Report (aggregation sites) where some of the videos have small articles with them and some don't. With some niches/content, it's a bridge page that contains a small advertorial that I pull together using something from Google News and a video from YT. It doesn't take a lot of effort or time and you're good to go. McGroarty's method gave me a really good idea that I adapted to suit my content style.

But consider this - what is one of the most shared topics on Pinterest? Recipes. How many of the people sharing those recipes created or even cooked them? Very few. Most of that content (pic or videos) is curated/shared and leads to sites that are nothing but ad farms that will choke your device. Now, how many of those sites get banned? Very few. What about listicles - ie Buzzfeed? Tons of content curation without additional info or large articles added but ads everywhere and they don't get banned. It's not rocket science, just follow the rules about affiliate products and direct linking. I haven't seen evidence of accounts being banned in my niches, but I hope that's true because it will keep the platform safe and viable for the rest of us.

And while you can't direct link to CB, Pinterest is again allowing direct linking to Amazon. You can also direct link to Etsy, Walmart, eBay, udemy, etc. If your particular account has issues with the direct links, just do a simple bridge page (I like bridge pages regardless). Seems like the digital affiliate products are the ones that Pinterest dislikes the most. Their new spam engine seems to be ok with physical products vs CB-style.

I have used the curation method for quite a while with multiple accounts without issue and have helped numerous small businesses do the same (also without issue). We share content from all kinds of different niches - but nothing is directly MMO or IM. If you're interested in the method but concerned about crossing a line and getting banned, just take a few extra minutes and write out a little summary (just 2-3 sentences will work) of the video and why you think it could be helpful to people. Super simple, easy, and fast - and now you've got some custom content. You could find an idea + product + create your post/pin in under 10 minutes.

I can't say that the other reviewer that you mention is right or wrong - I don't know what his experience is/was that led him to say that. All I can say is that Pinterest is filled to the brim with curated content from all over the place and in tons of niches and a huge percentage of people never create any unique content to go along with the shares. Pinterest can tell if your links/pins are value-driven vs sales-driven, so just try to be helpful. Create simple bridge pages with a summary of the product/offer and why it's interesting or helpful. That will satisfy the rules of Pinterest 99.9% of the time and let you go about your merry way without issue - which is the basis for McGroarty's method.

As to whether or not McGroarty is a scammer - I guess it all comes down to perception. I think any marketer that gets hypey with their copy could be considered a scammer by somebody. But if you have an iota of sense you can tweak and adapt strategies to make them work for you. That's one of the huge advantages of this forum since you have the opportunity to take a peek under the hood and see what's really in a product before you choose to use it or not.

Apologies to the OP. Not trying to redirect the thread. But I think this does tie back in to Shepherd and his strategy of providing value while including a soft-sell approach.
Hi Provocado, thanks for the reply, to be clear, I did not say McGroaty was a scammer, just the method as outlined and tested by another BBHF member could get you banned. I also mentioned that it appeared a very Grey hat method.
Now yes, curation is a very common practice and I agree with what you have said above. I like following marketers that are like Shepherd. I was excited that McGroaty's product was here and I could look at it, however, the post from the other member put me off a bit. There are very few marketers that are as open and transparent as Shepherd is. In fact, for me, the only other one I follow at the moment is Dan Raine. His techniques, methods, etc are all a lot like Tony's.
As for McGroaty, the jury is still out, I will need to read some more of his stuff.

D.
PS. I don't think the thread has been hijacked, the thread almost died until you said something last week. If these discussions bring to light other marketers and techniques that are like Tony's, then that is great. I think the OP would agree.
(01-14-2022 10:33 PM)BlackTopHat Wrote: [ -> ]All that said, and seeing the limitations of the Launch Model, I'm uncertain as to how to actually sell the stuff lacking a list yet.

Hi @BlackTopHat,
I too have no list, so in order to build one I've written a complete evergreen type report. In an earlier post you said, "I've rewritten one of his smaller courses as an OTO for a lead magnet" and from that I assume you are going to sell it(?).
I had thought that way originally, but now I'm going to give it away. I need to develop a sense of trust BEFORE I ask for $$$.
So, for me it's:
1. Killer Free Report
2. Names added to list
3. Send emails (like Tony)
4. Give away more free stuff.
5. Sell workshops periodically. (again, like Tony)
6. Rinse / Repeat
That's the plan. Comments and thoughts more than welcome.
Cheers,
NoJob

PS: @rhqman has a thread 'Hippy Hacks and Detox solutions' over in the request section that looks interesting and there's a couple things there that interest me. If anyone has this, I think a bunch of us would like to see it:

Hey guys,
Thanks for keeping this thread going. It's good to see what others are doing. I'll come back and comment on some of these threads (moronicon is kicking my ass, endless bouts of tiredness, plus I'm moving to Central Amerca in a month) but for now, here's something by Arun Chandrun on how to build a mailing list from scratch. Definitely join his list and FB group. Not for the faint of heart, Arun takes no prisoners. Build a Mailing List From Scratch
