It is always a good idea to open a rar or zip download on your desktop and pull out certain types of files to scan separately as a security measure. Certain types of files can have harmful components that are not easily detected or may be overlooked by an anti-virus scan when they are packaged with other files. These include executables (files ending in the .exe extension) and the traditional "black-hat" type cracking tools like patch files and key generators designed to make programs work by altering the code.
If you get a negative detection, they you've got to investigate to see if it is a false positive (ex: AV program highly sensitive) or something you should be concerned about.

Here's what I found:
3 of 66 security vendors flagged the file as malicious BUT the important thing is to look for YOUR security vendor. If your AV program gave this a pass, it is safe to use. If you AV program is one of the 3 that found the file malicious, use the name of the potentially harmful problem (ex: specific name of the trojan, etc.) and do a little more due diligence with a Google search on computer tech sites to see if it could be a false positive. You can then either delete it or use it in your AV's sandbox feature where you can use it normally but it is restricted to a virtual sandbox, separate from the rest of your computer's important system files, etc. I recently shared a download for Sandboxie if you want to download that virtual sandbox program.
