Reps added and thanks for sharing this!

I remember a while back I shared a re-upload with two members who had asked and I asked them not to share it publicly.

Anyway, I don't know which one decided to share the link in other forums and within 6 hours I had more than 1,000 downloads and my account was shut down and lost all my files in that account.

@All: Thank you for the kind comments and support. This could have ended badly and I really don't want sympathy because I have no one to blame but myself for what happened. I thought I'd post this for the people here who are always asking for what THEY want but never giving anything of value to make our community better. I also feel the need to strongly emphasize, once again, that NO ONE I HELPED HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT (COULD HAVE) HAPPENED TO MY ACCOUNT.

In the past, I have had people send me premium links via PM and ask me to convert them so they could download a course. In a few cases, there were dozens of links! In each case, I politely refused and thought to myself, "The %#$@$^%! nerve of them!" Hitface

In this case, though, purely of my own intense curiosity, I decided to do a "controlled test" with just 5 people on a REQ thread. Even then, it almost backfired. Next time I find a course download with premium links, I will share the site URL and leave it at that.

To those of you who sent me a PM expressing your feelings about this incident, thank you so much. I Heart you all! But I'm fine ... just happy that Real-Debrid's customer support is so awesome and they really have a heart. They actually sent a follow-up email saying that warning wasn't a sanction and I can use my account wherever I want to but I just can't use it in multiple locations (like all over the world!) at the same time. Yeah ... that would trigger their attention! And that likely would have happened if I had posted the links in the public forum instead of a PM.

Real-Debrid support suggested if I wanted to use different IP addresses that I buy separate accounts. I really appreciated this kind of feedback (and that I now can use my account again!). Unlike the a**holes at Ge.tt ... where it took 6 months for them to get back to me and when they did, they said to send them a Ge.tt link I couldn't download from and they'll check it out (when I asked them why I couldn't do anything once I logged into my account!).

@Trikuro: I actually remember seeing a link in my Deepbrid account; I'm not so sure about Real-Debrid. I joked once in a post that I should consider becoming an affiliate but since I only talk about them here and not on a website or other more visible platform, I don't see the profit potential.

@actionguy: Yeah, friend ... I feel your pain. Sometimes, dealing with people is more trouble than it's worth.

That's why I titled this post "I've Learned My Lesson."

It feels good to be helpful to others; but in the future, I will need to work on reeling it back a notch ... or two.

I'm just glad this ended with me keeping my account. So, in the end, it's all good!

Thanks
for your kind support

In real life also.
(time or money or others...)

that was bad, but at the end good.
Sorry to hear about that Layna. You've been a very helpful and generous member of the BBHF community and I would personally like to thank you for your hard work and shares.
Holy book says:
Ecclesiastes 11:1" Cast your bread on the waters; for you shall find it after many days."
Layna61524,

So glad things worked out for you! Your contributions bring massive value to this forum but we definitely don't want it to be at your own personal expense. So glad you are smart enough to know when to pull back to save your own neck, my friend! 51whew
Layna,
Thank you for your continuous efforts with shares and helping others!

I think there is a way to delete the generated link and it will render it useless.

If you go to
Code:
https://real-debrid.com/downloads
you will see the history of generated links. Click red X and the link will go away.

My apologies if you already done it and it didn't work. I always believed that this is what that X- link is for.
No good deed goes unpunished...
@bennyb: Thank you for the link but it takes me to an Error page. It could be because I'm using Epic Privacy Browser ... I'll try it in Firefox in a moment.

UPDATE

Okay; I'm back. I get a 403-Error message in either browser.

I believe Real-Debrid disabled the links on their end and then sent me a message explaining why I could no longer log in and providing me with a new password. So, all's well now.
