FREE STUFF ONLINE!

[Image: 2018-04-11_1026.png]

FREE! It's the sweetest four-letter word EVER!

Everybody loves getting something for nothing ... right black-hatters?!

Well, today, I am sharing links to blogs and websites you can use to read more about getting FREE STUFF online ... some of the links go directly to these free stuff websites.

Now, what kind of FREE STUFF am I talking about?

Here is a small list...

* Amazon.com gift cards
* Beauty products like cosmetics, bath salts, perfumes and such
* Business and Office items like address books, calendars, software, etc.
* Coupons for free or discounted price on products or services of all kinds
* Educational materials like books, teacher's resources, videos, etc.
* Food like snacks, pasta sauce and samples of newly introduced food products
* Health aids of all kinds
* Gaming consoles like Playstation 4 or Xbox One and the games to play on them
* Gift cards for pizza
* Graphics and drawing programs such as fonts, text editors and more
* Software
* Sports related merchandise
* Travel discounts
* Web development tools like color pickers, HTML editors

TAKE A SURVEY ... GET A CHECK!

Some sites involve taking surveys but not all of them do.

If you're okay with spending a few minutes doing a survey, you could be rewarded with cash or merchandise incentives for sharing your thoughts about a product, service or simply your point of view!

For example, SurveyJunkie.com is visited by more than 10,000 people in any given month and they pay up to $45 per survey that takes only 20 minutes to complete!

WRITE A BRIEF PRODUCT REVIEW

As I said, not all of these FREE STUFF sites are survey based.

Some require you to write a product review. If you like to share your opinion, enjoy writing and have free time, you could make extra cash or get free merchandise!

In many cases, the products are sent to you in advance so that you can use them and in turn, you agree to provide your unbiased product review. It is important that you read all the terms of any agreement and to observe any time-lines. If you have a certain number of weeks to complete the assignment, get it done on time or you may not get your reward.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

All FREE STUFF sites will ask you to participate in some way for your reward. But you will first need to register. How else will they know who to write that check out to or where to send your free stuff?!

For merchandise, samples, etc., it should be okay to provide your alternate name (i.e., a fake name) and other information but if you are to be compensated with a cash reward, you must provide your legal name and actual address if you expect to receive and cash the check.

DO YOUR DUE DILIGENCE TO PROTECT YOURSELF

Like anything else, you've got to be careful with free stuff sites. Especially with free stuff sites.

An online prankster could set up a free stuff site that looks legitimate with the sole purpose of either wasting your time, stealing your data or worse, sending dangerous files to infect your computer.

On that note, keep your anti-virus program updated and running at all times. Use it to scan any electronic files you download. Most are okay but it's always best to be safe rather than sorry.

Never give information beyond your name and address and (maybe) your date of birth. Some free sites may use that kind of data to form a user profile of its visitors. Never offer information that is not asked for.

If/when a request for information seems invasive or unnecessary, give false information.

As for spending money, even a small amount to cover shipping or other fees, be cautious.

While that may seem legit, here's my take on it: I would never give my bank card information (debit or credit card number and expiration date) to someone online I am not familiar with just to get something that's FREE ... it's not worth the risk. Even if it makes sense that the money goes to ship your package.

Some sites ask for small sums ($5) for shipping just to get your bank card info to make unauthorized charges later.

Still, you don't have to stand on the sidelines while everyone else enjoy these free-stuff sites. And you certainly don't have to forfeit your reward!

Go to a local retailer (like Walmart, Target, etc.) that sell pre-paid money or cash cards. Then go online to register the card you bought. When you register, you will be able to "fund" or deposit money (any amount you choose) from your existing bank account to go into your new pre-paid card account. Then provide that card information when you pay for your FREE stuff delivery.

This protects your bank account from unauthorized charges and limits the damage of how much money can be withdrawn if you are, in fact, dealing with an unscrupulous vendor on a free-stuff site.

I would use a pre-paid card like this for ANY online purchases with companies you are unfamiliar with. You can fund it as you go and use it on multiple transactions, just as if using your bank debit or credit card.

Be careful, too, with the prepaid card you purchase. They're not all the same.

Besides the cost to buy the card, there may be other fees you should be aware of. Read the small print or any information that comes with the card or visit the card issuer's website online. Keep in mind that a minimum balance may be required on some cards or there will be a fee assessed.

Bottom line - some of these cards are a better value than others. Do your research before buying one and choose wisely.

All things considered, it is far better to use a "throwaway" cash card than to expose your financial life to ruin in today's world of ID thefts, data breaches and online scams.

Read more on these cards by doing a Google search for prepaid bank cards. You can get started by reading about the Walmart MoneyCard here:

.

If you don't like the idea of all the fees associated with prepaid cash cards, see if your bank will allow you to open a separate account that is not directly connected to your existing account but one where you can transfer cash between. Many banks do just that.

I belong to a credit union and at one time, I had three separate bank accounts. One for personal use checking, one for small business checking and one for savings (for vacations, etc.) All three were at the same financial institution and I could easily transfer funds between them either in person or online a certain number of times each month without any fees or penalties. If funds ran low in one account, the bank would NOT re-fund it unless I requested it or did it myself either electronically or in person.

Of course, if there was a charge and there wasn't enough money in the account to cover it, I could incur an insufficient funds charge however, if I could prove that a charge was unauthorized then that would negate that penalty.

You can use this setup with your financial institution. You will get a debit card for each account. Simply keep enough money in one of these accounts each month for online purchases you may on sites you're not familiar with and fund the account only as needed. Factor into your funding whatever fees the bank charges each month, if any.

Thanks for yet another really terrific info share Layna !!!

Now=>
Sort of adding a little and commenting upon this subject which is near and dear to me...

1st: There are a couple of Udemy courses which are all about getting free stuff.
The one I used is about how to get free and very discounted stuff from amazon.
It worked very well too - until the evil amazon violated the privacy (what privacy ?!?) of my account and PERMANENTLY revoked that account's ability to post reviews as well as nuking al my hundreds of existing reviews.
(The worst and genuinely evil blackhatters are the big corpies, I think.)

2nd: Getting an EDU email has a biggest benefit for folks who are amazon users - cheaper prime after 6 free months of it - IMO this alone makes it worth having that email as you can get free 2-day shipping on stuff you normally buy anyhow.

3rd: I tried a bunch of the freebie ways to get the EDU email and found they weren't very good, BUT=> one of our own folks here offers a deal that is great because if the email quits on you he replaces it very quickly with no hassle - very well worth the few bucks it cost and this is how I got a good one.

4th: A couple of shortcuts for cheapie/freebie stuff=>
Vipon.com
jumpsend.com
Just join 'em and do as they ask to get verified...very carefully as amazon is onto them and watching for profile edits now - which is why they busted me when I was verifying for another site - I added the 'code' as instructed, but forgot to remove it fast enough.

Another site that works not quite as well is snagshout.com - it is funky and fussy, but they have good offers at times all the same.
Layna you are definitely "The Woman" your shares and posts are all top notch and of real value to all of us. Thank you so much for all that you do for the community. All the work you put in for the forum and time and energy you exert is greatly appreciated by not only myself, but all on this forum I am certain. Thank you again. Tom
Adding to the info posted in my previous reply to this thread=>

Lastly, view these YouTube videos (and follow the instructions) then read more on how to get an .edu email address without actually being in school:

.
http://atechguide.com/get-edu-email-address/#respond
.
https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/how-to-get-an-edu-email-address
.

I haven't watched those specific YT videos as I did that with a bunch of them sometime back and those ones were all duds, but - referring to the sites below the YT links:

At the 1001tricks site, which recommends CCC and Maricopa (both of which are known and often banned from accounts very quickly), it says this:
Quote:You can get an email address ending with .edu by just spending $5 on Fiverr. And I think it’s better to spend that amount than spending your valuable hours for no result.
And this=>

Quote:I’m still searching for new free tricks to get edu email, I’ll update this page if I find any new method.

The atechguide site was only giving an error message when I tried that one;

The laptopmag site has this at the very top of its page:
Quote:EDITOR'S NOTE: This method no longer works for acquiring a .edu email address.

Perhaps the member here who offers the really trustworthy .EDU account deal will make a reply here - I will look to see who that was as well and share the username if I can find it.

As I said before - it IS very well worth getting a good EDU email if only for the great discounts it can be used for !!
Thanks
@Everyone: I just love y'all ... all this kindness is making me swoon! I really appreciate those heart-felt comments.

@smithnowt: Thanks for the additional resources and value-adding content you provided to this thread. Thank you, too, especially for coming back to report on the content of my share.

In all honesty, I did snatch-and-grab what I thought would be helpful and only did a cursory assessment of the sites I linked to. So, I appreciate the time and effort you expended to come back here with such a detailed review.

Knowing what I know now (thanks to you) I will go back and edit my links based solely on your feedback. I don't like sending people to dud sites or leading them to bad information.

As for the .edu email address, I got one about a year ago. I haven't used it much but I hear there are tremendous benefits with Amazon.com leading the pack as for as the quality and quantity of FREE STUFF you can get.

The person I purchased my edu from offered all kinds of services (including identity renewal stuff!) but sadly, I have lost the contact information.

I hope the BBHF member you mention reads this thread and posts his contact information or the link to his thread(s). It would benefit a lot of readers.

I may have dropped the ball a bit on this share by going against my better judgment and posting links that I did not properly vet. Nonetheless, I thank each of you for your continued supportive comments. Heart

Thanks
Layna61524

UPDATE: As of 4-12-2018, I have removed the links that provided no value to this thread. Max reps will be added for smithnowt for his unbiased review.

OK, my bad - sorry !!
The member who WAS selling them is Nanohits and they WERE ~$5.
Apparently he no longer offers those now - just some M$ stuff instead.
