In this case, he sells the info, then makes a commision as well - which explains the 'why' of selling such things when he is already supposedly doing so well.
Too many IM sellers depend upon potential buyers being oblivious to the obvious:
If these sellers are doing so well, raking in 6 figures and so forth, then just how much sense does it make to still be NEEDING to sell things for such small prices ??

In fact, given Buzzfeed's pronouncements on its ecommerce strategy, I'd be surprised if this was still around in a year's time. You can call me out on that if you wish if I'm wrong.
And once again, this thread highlights the value of this community - getting insights on hyped up and false claims without handing over hard-earned cash to characters whose principal MO is to say absolutely anything, true or, more usually, outrageously false, so they can sell BS to you.

A couple of thoughts from me also..
1. The amount of traffic and sales from Buzzfeed depends both on relevancy, but also [VERY IMPORTANT] by the commission you decide to pay them. There is no official mention of this, but you get the point. The more you give them, the more they will promote your product.
2. Shopify got a lot of bad publicity lately. In fact its market cap dropped by a crazy 1.5 billion Dollars because of accusations that they "hype up" earnings people make from using their platform and their tools. There are even calls to the FTC to investigate.
3. Buzzfeed is also facing its own problems. They intend to fire 8% (!!!) of their US staff, after falling revenue projections (by 15-25%). Their model doesn't work as well as it used to, and they need to update it, or have even bigger problems. So, your product might not be a good fit for the platform.
So, no "easy 50" -or 60 or 70 bucks here. Just a lot of trial and error until you get the right mix.
