In my case, none of the ideas in the main answer thread worked, but read the other comments.
I've had to add a new group of [PC]\Users to the file permisions tab, so the file works and is read as intended.
Now is working and the software is registered. :)
I can not SAVE the hosts now. :(
Bevor I could, I have many Adobethings already inside. How did I make it?
Where is the permission tab in Windows 7?
(please write in german if you can)
EDIT! It is ok now - I found the permissionthings and can save now. OK everythink now with this hosts file. (at the moment)

If you are an administrator (which you should be) you already have permission. If it still gives permission error run notepad or notepad++ as administrator.
The suggested link to "troubleshooting" is WAY more complicated than it needs to be and I would NOT suggest anyone use that unless you are very experienced which if you are you wouldn’t need it anyway.

It says "(64 bit OS recommended)" so it should support 32 bit but I'm sure it
wouldn’t be as robust as it would if you ran 64 bit.

32 bit software can run unde 64 bit operating system but 64 bit software can't run under 32 bit Operating System. I need 32 bit software. Thanks.

We all know that.
Where do you see that requirement.
It says "(64 bit OS recommended)" not required which means it is 32/64 bit software.
To verify I just installed on 32 bit win7 and installed and ran fine.
