Techsmith has gotten way too smart in their attempt to prevent unauthorized versions of Camtasia. I got the "counterfeit" warning, plus the reginfo file has disappeared. Looks like it's time to find an alternative.
in fact you can lock the input and output connections to the camtasia and spent time been awarded the warning camtasia know what I discovered. And what a heavy cleaning programs that I always use the computer and it erased the Windows firewall settings so Camtasia issued the warning and disabled the camtasia is ok tip.

Same here. No matter if I block access in the firewall, any time I try top open the program it wipes out what is in the reginfo file.
I've used your build on 3 different machines in the past year. Worked like a charm every time. Just follow the directions.
Not working. It used to work but now always tells for serial and I can us It only in 15 days trail with watemark.
I uninstalled Camtasia with IObit Uninstaller, deleted regedit, blocked with Windows Firewall, etc.. and when I reinstalled It it keeps asking for serial.
Even a portable Camtasia version asks me for serial.
Any solution?

I just installed 8.5.1 version (no from bestblackhatforum-com) and It seems to works by now.
Go to: "C/ProgramData/TechSmith/Camtasia Studio 8" open the "RegInfo" file and Do the following that is red and in CAPS.
.
[RegistrationInfo]
RegisteredTo=YOUR NAME
RegistrationKey=USE ONE OF THE SERIAL NUMBERS IN BATCH FILES
ValidationData1=
ValidationData2=1
ValidationData3=0
ValidationData4=
ValidationData5=LEAVE BLANK
.
Save the file and software should open without any issues.
PLEASE REP if successful.
Edited: Yes the "1" for ValidationData2 and the "0" for ValidationData3 is IMPORTANT.

Very important 1 and 0 after ValidationData2 and ValidationData3. I was missing It.
Man, you make my day. Rep added.

I removed and re-installed as per the directions. Works fine now. I'm using Norton 360 firewall and didn't see an option for inbound or outbound, just "block" which I assume means everything. There may be an advanced setting somewhere. If I can find it, should I un-block outbound?
Also after installation, there is a value in the RegInfo file: ValidationData5=y, (ORDdM+bDYpZ) k
In the video, it's there and he doesn't say to delete it (different than suggested below). Does that matter one way or the other?
Thanks.
