UPDATE ON DDominator: This is my last evening before my subscription expires...only minutes till midnight when the monthly subscription expires. I have been running ddominator with new settings that I found on my own.
In the end, after running 32 minutes [when it closed down due to the month expiring at midnight]...it found some 401 expired domains total, and of those, 30 domains had a TF of 25, but nothing over 25.
It was strange, all but one of the TF domains started with the letter "a", even though I had not used any alphabetical sorting to gather my seed url's, but the niche keyword that I used to search google for a list of seed url's did start with the letter "a", so perhaps that is the reason for that strange result ? Still, a TF flow of 25 isn't that great, as I am looking for 30+ TF for registration purposes...but at least it's a much better start than what I was getting prior to tonight.
So, I don't think I'll be registering any of these domains. Another factor, even though they had a 25 TF, the found domains lacked sufficient referring domain backlinks [most only had 1 or 2 backlinks] so as to justify registering the domains, because, if a single backlink drops off in the next month or so, then the domain will lose much of it's TF power...and you're left with a worthless domain in your roster. I'd say you need to keep domains with at least 5 referring domains as backlinks, or risk having the domains lose power due to links dropping off.
I could not duplicate ddominator's screenshots posted here where they had found some 30 TF domains, as I never saw any domain over 25 TF during my entire usage of ddominator over the 30 days.
Experimenting....
Anyway....I am finally having better results. Prior to tonight... where I ran the software for 10+ hours on earlier settings and seed url's, and got only two or three domains at 20 TF... nothing over 20 TF.
The setting are crucial. Follow the instructions posted here on page 25 of this thread as to ideal settings. Apparently, for whatever reason they deem important, don't use external scraping. I have turned off external scraping, and it seems to be working much better. It is counter-intuitive, as any sane person would think that external domains are exactly what you want to scrape, but apparently not -- who would know that ?
I don't use the ddominator keyword scrape feature anymore. I run seed url's only.
In order to find decent seed url's, I had to go through holy hell to find them, and then extract the raw url's from google's search results page...100 at a time.
That is a pain in the ass, until you add the greasemonkey extension to firefox to provide raw url's at the bottom of the search results. It is a matter of some bizarre skill set in thinking like person who would be a typical google user some ten years ago [hot spot for expired domains that are ready to be picked up today], and a lot of luck, but when you find a honey hole, fish it till the bottom of your boat drops out.
I am on one now, and it's finding mucho expired domains.
A pop up just came on at midnight showing that my ddominator software has expired for this 30 day period, and renewal is required for $47. The program has now closed, but I managed to saved my domains prior to shutdown.
So, my days and nights of using this software are over.
Too bad it was not till the bitter end that it started showing decent results...but I am satisfied that I got my $47 dollar worth of expired domains.
My final thoughts are that this ddominator software can produce good results, but you will need to use the correct settings [see page 25 of this thread], and you will need to find the high value seed url's to scrape before you locate any good domains. Both of these factors running simultaneously are absolutely necessary before you can gather any valuable domains.
Question: Is ddominator worth the $47 per month subscription for 5000 points of usage per month. Well, I used up about 1/2 of my points over the 30 days, but I didn't run it for about 22 straight days during this month. Had I ran it every other day, like many power users, then your points would expire well before the end of your month.
Answer: Yes, if you are able to locate 5 - 10 high value expired domains during any given month, then it will pay for itself. The trouble is, you may never get to that point, unless you get lucky with the settings and seed url's. I used up several thousand points on worthless domains, and was frustrated using the software when I started posting on this thread. During the last 1/2 hour of using the software, it finally came through and started to locate 25 TF expired domains [10 of them in 17 minutes...like I said, a honey hole].
PS: I will now try to duplicate my efforts using scrapebox's premium $47 one time fee plugin that does essentially the same thing as ddominator.
If I can duplicate these results, then I will post a update on this thread about my results with scrapebox.
However, the settings and methods are different with scrapebox, so I will need to run some experiments to find ideal settings.
I will use the same seed url's [100 of them] as I used with ddominator.
