You just learned a VERY valuable lesson, which costed you $3,000 - there is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme which requires little work or risk.

The chances of you getting your money back are pretty much nil, so:

1. Just s.uck it up
2. Learn from it
3. Don't make the same mistake again
4. Move on with life

Davao is in Mindanao, parts of which are dangerous places to go to if you are a foreigner. I am English and spend a lot of time in the Philippines and I can say without any doubt that your money is lost.

Personally, I would NEVER give/lend/invest money here as 99% of the time you get scammed. BTW, when you lend someone money here in the Philippines, you rarely get it back as it is the habit to not give loaned money back unless you have an agreement in writing and/or collateral. The problem is (just like the Nigerians) the Filipino believes that all foreigners are millionaires and there is no shame in cheating them out of as much money as possible.

I am presently living in Pangasinan in Luzon and had that swindler been anywhere near here, I can assure you I would have paid him a visit, or arranged for something to happen to him (VERY easy to do here). Unfortunately, living in Mindanao, he is out of reach.

The scammers in the Philippines are many (corruption is everywhere) and when a scammer is caught, he just flashes a wad of money and he goes free.

All I can do is offer you my condolences as it is always the 'good guys' that fall for scams and if ANYONE on the BBHF intends to deal with a Filipino, let me know and I will check him out to the best of my abilities for you.
