one of my friend encounter with hostgator..

just briefs..
she create account pay through CC after , they asked to furnish Govt. ID and Credit card snaps etc..(understandable)
she reply with all required details within few hours..and today its 5th days no one is answering..and when she manage to talk to live chat and asking for refund, just look at the rude behavior, instead of asking the issue for asking refund, they are giving slap on your face by giving you cancellation..

ha yaar uske baap ka kya jata hai..usko to apni sallary mill hi jayegi..(this is my anger, to employees of big companies)

So guys if you are looking for hostgator I would recommend you avoid this ,,,,
Don't go just behind a name..

They have captured huge part of domains and hosting now their tummy if full and don't care about you...

So better beware..
I have been with critex since last 5 years and found their support highest level..

You asked for cancellation and they guided you on the cancellation procedure and that is somehow rude? I lost you...

Yes, I can understand that the initial issue was delay in response, but was it could have been due to many factors. Did your "friend" follow up regularly? Did she check her emails for probably the response caught in spam folder, etc? Was the snaps of Govt ID, Credit Card, etc legible and valid? Did your friend meet other requirements as stated in Hostgator TOS (http://www.hostgator.com/tos)?

I am not affiliated with Hostgator in any way, but this post surely needs a revisit before we can presumably say that the fault was Hostgator's.

its 10th day no refund so far, no ticket response

I just purchased Hostgator and I agree with @mirrormaker . They Took So many times to response and not really Dedicated to Support . Although their Chat Tool Have a Big Issue . most Of times after Writing the messages and Press ENTER button or Send Button Message Didn't Post and Copy / Past Message Didn't Post . When you will Rewrite then try 2 or 3 Times to Post this Message Successfully.

I used Dream Host and If i compare Support Then I will Give Hosgator 3 out of 10

Yes, they are quite notorious for overselling their plans, especially the shared packages. But I did not have any customer service issues with them so far (3 years going strong). But yes, I do agree that their servers are usually slow.

Frankly saying i am using hostgator from last 4 years and never had issues with them and their customer support its best compare to others they reply only what you ask for..
Regarding above two guys .. First one you asked for cancellation and support replied you regarding that there is nothing rude.
Second one its your internet connectivity where you were not able to send message properly not hostgator chat portal.

Every hosting provider faces issues at server end on some point it does't mean they are bad what matters is what solutions they have for such situation and how fast they solve it.

If you ask me I too using hostgator and cirtex among them I personally like cirtex excellent support super fast, I usually get reply within few hours..not in days..

if (so called hostgator) have too much burden of customers then they should increase their manpower, you know min waiting time to chat with them is 30min..and after that their is no guarantee that you will get good reply..

you know a fact company is always good, but everything depends on how their employees work... because lower grade employees hardly care about the reputation of a company..and its true that company can't keep eye on every single employee...similar case may be with my friend..
yes friends she got refund but after talking to their billing depart over phone.

anyways hostgator is also good but they are overloaded...:) :)

yap! hostgator is the second worst web hosting that i tried, (the worst 1° is 1&1)
