Further to add, there is no need to use MS Excel.

Creating backlinks/anchor text is about writing standard html <a> tags with
href parameter for creating a url.

You can do it even in Windows notepad or any other text editor.

Converting text to HTML codes can be done through Excel, HTML editors, and by a lot of other means.

Created a quick Google Sheet to do the exact same thing.

Just select File from the menu > Copy to copy the file to your own drive and edit it as you please.

Advantage : you just need a browser to get this to work.

My intent here is not to comment on other ways but to showcase Sheet for simple tasks. You can gradually move towards other complex tasks on Sheets.
