just copy paste the links in Google chat or email and it gives a hypertext version

Just in case anyone finds it helpful, an easy way I use with Notepad++ is...

Have your urls line by line, eg.
http://www.example.com
http://www.example2.com

Click Search -> Replace
Find what: (.*)
Replace with: http://\1
Search Mode: Regular expression

Click Replace All...

Done.
