If you are dealing with blood sugar issues- here's a little trick I learned many moons ago. Keep a container/bag whatever of raisins and mixed nuts. Maybe 2 or 3 raisins per 8 or 10 nuts. Eat a small handful and it will help balance your blood sugar out.

You get the glucose from the raisins (among other nutrients) and the fats help slow the digestion so you don;t spike your insulin levels. It smooths it out. If you are irritable, shaky etc., eat the nuts/raisins and you'll see it will calm you right down. You don't need a lot either.
