Are you using PHP 5.4?
If you are using PHP 5.4 the function
mysql_escape_string() is deprecated. (5.3 too)
You can fixed using an earlier version of php (not recommended) or google it a little bit because i dont have much time right now:

php 5.4 should not be the issues, because I am using php 5.4, check other issues you may have.
