I've installed it on 3 sites so far and it's fine, also works OK with multisite but the dashboard doesn't display to end-users so you'd have to install plugins at network admin level as usual.

This is the craziest thing i have seen all day. I tried it out of a local copy of a live site and tried 2 plugins, they seem to being working. You guys should checkout the discussions between the site owner and a couple of the devs for the original plugin

Yep, he didn't exactly make himself popular by making the plugin - just loads of developers getting angry about not being able to charge a fortune for incredibly small/simple plugins any more.
