As far as I can tell they work similar and just do a test mail send.
I think it is needed that your SMTP and Helo domain and email address to send out with is not on any banned list. Most online email addresses now also require you to click a link in a reply message to know the receiver. So the ping type way of seeing if an email address is life falls far short. I do not think the software is the answer but break the list down and have four or ten valid IDs and white listed emails and SMTP HELO name providers.. I think it is the authenticity that counts not so much the program you use.. Currently i use http://www.mailutilities.com/adr/ |
