RE: http vs http://www
They both are different in work. HTTP is used for transferring the data and WWW is to identify the website.

http is the best redirection for SEO. This works better for me in my point of view.

The true answer is pick one and stick with it.

Back in the olden days of the internet everyone typed out http://www.domain.com . Nowadays most people except for some older people don't bother. If you type www or non-www you will be re-directed to the correct place regardless of what was picked as the chosen format.

The search engines see them the same way, pick one and always use that (although if link building you can switch back and forth for link diversity reasons). I haven't used www in many, many years, if that's worth anything. Most modern sites don't bother, it is completely unnecessary nowadays but it's up to you.

Yes! It is completely unnecessary nowadays. Great answer. Thank you.

RE: http vs http://www
I thought that there would have been some discussion on http vs https as well. Many browsers, especially Chrome, gives an alert when you go to a non-https (secured site). This will certainly hurt your site's SEO, as well as discourage the more savvy online users from visiting.

Just my 5 cents worth.

4. Any prefix that is not reserved to a protocol can be used as a sub domain.

Hmm - I always think it's better to say nothing if you don't know what you're talking about - don't you agree?
