I use trending videos that are congruent with my own books sold via KDP. I refer to the book author and Amazon in the comment but don't provide the link, and then pump the comment with comment likes. My sales have seen an uptick as a result. Choose the videos well and you don't have to do much of this - a few select videos, carefully written comments, 30 - 50 upvotes at a cost of a few 10s of cents, and they can stay ranked for weeks.

Firstly you're not a newbie, if you have been around since 2013. In hindsight, the very first line in my review says, "the main aim of the book is to dupe the hapless newbie."

That said, I deduce that you are using your well-refined technique from a time much before the launch of this ebook. Your comment almost legitimizes the book's technique as though you picked it up yesterday and started following it and got results. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that may not be the case.

Let me clear the confusion that may arise after reading your comment, however inadvertent it may have been.

I will go into some detail and compare the two i.e. what's written in the book vs. what you follow, to demarcate what works and what clearly doesn't. And then I hope it's not counted as one and the same thing!

Because, seriously, it is not the same thing!!

What's In the Book:
The book creator literally tells you to jump into the comments section without any instructions or how-tos, to describe how you won "$3000 per month for life" by making use of the affiliate offer. Now if you read the book carefully, and the reason why I said that it has been cleverly written is because he does not really give you an example of a comment or the way it is to be written.

That's because he did not try it himself, or more likely did try it but without success.

So most newbies will do exactly what he says. Comment that I won 3000 bucks/mo. for life etc. and then put a link in the comment to a laughable one-page minisite.

Laughable, because he gives zero instructions on how to create a tasteful looking minisite that anyone will half-trust. And remember, he is talking about a One-Page Minisite in 2021 whereas quick-money minisites are a stale, decrepit, decade-old concept.

In 2021 a one page minisite has virtually morphed into a slick Clickfunnels/ Groovefunnels landing page. If you compare a designer Clickfunnels landing page to a Minisite from 2011, you'll know what I mean.

So the rapid loss of credibility begins from "I won 3000 bucks", raises a red flag where the link has been inserted, and then reaches a point of no return if and when the visitor reaches the one-page masterpiece with a few lines of gibberish or let me guess - just the affiliate link with one or two sentences copied from the Clickbank product's sales page.

The next thing that happens is that the comment is reported as spam. YouTube does the rest and there goes all your time and effort

Let's compare this to what you probably follow.

What You Follow:
Let's say you're promoting an Amazon KDP book called "Time Management Tricks" written by Bob Henry. Obviously you're using a different name/ multiple user names on YouTube to comment below popular "congruent" time management videos.

Suppose you wrote the following comment:

"Thanks for the informative video and I can very well relate to your issue. I always wished there were more than 24 hours in a day until I came across a book that made me realize that I was using my time all wrong! I had heard of the Pomodoro Technique but the unique way Bob Henry uses it as described in his book changed my life. I think his book is called Time Management Tricks and I picked it up for 99 cents on the Kindle Store. Never bought a better book, and a huge time saver for me!"

9 out of 10 people who read your comment will Google or do an Amazon search for Time Management Tricks Bob Henry, some will not even wait to read the reviews, and buy the book. They were already watching a time management video, they have a problem for which they need a solution, and you have given it to them in your comment. Book sold!

There's a world of difference between a spammy, suspicious looking, hyped-up Clickbank product or lottery offer sales page, and an Amazon Kindle product page.

If a Kindle book costing 99 cents or $2.99 is rated 4-stars and above I usually buy the book right away. Quite frankly, I don't even remember the last time I bought a Clickbank product.

Notice the difference between what he asks you to do in the book and the way I have decribed how it really works and works well at that, using the very same technique that you wrote you follow and are getting results, in your comment.

It is not the same thing!!

I never said anywhere in my review, and did not use the words "it does not work"

In fact I wrote these exact words:

"Basically a numbers game, with YouTube being the source of traffic."

So I have wholeheartedly agreed that YouTube is a good source of traffic. Now how you use YouTube to drive that traffic could be different, and there could be many ways to do it. But it's very unfortunate that the desperate dude who wrote the book only gave away his methods that not only do not work but can get your account shut down.

Even the niche that he chose and may have dabbled in himself, the lottery niche, is a very spammy niche best handled by experienced super affiliates, mostly using paid traffic.

As a rule if you're new and lack years of experience, you should never think of venturing into spammy niches.

I don't usually come back after writing a detailed review(don't have the time) to justify my stance because I don't need to, but I posted this one to clear any confusion.

I don't belong to the "______ is dead and it doesn't work" group. Everything still works including YouTube, Medium, Fiverr etc. provided you know how to make it work.

I think I have given a pretty good example of how YouTube works kind courtesy Bobhenry, and I hope this clears it all up for anyone who reads the review and has doubts.

You(I'm addressing the readers at large) can an actually use my example, a technique that Bobhenry also uses successfully as mentioned in his post(reps to him please), to drive some good, converting traffic from YouTube to a landing page created with a free website builder and it will earn some decent money if you do it right.

Ricky P, thanks a lot for your time and educative review. Is there any kind of link that YouTube allows?

Thanks to you too Bobhenry!

No idea. You could read the YouTube Guidelines to find out or check out their Community pages.

Thanks to you too Bobhenry!

Why leave a link and take the risk?

Just do what was excellently detailed in the above post by Ricky P.

Think about it. Your quality of traffic is improved big time by a person reading your post on YT which is informative and not spammy, but gives enough of a hint as to where to go next.

Not really my cup of tea offering deceitful BS gigs and offers.
He doesn't give other niches examples you can try.

Main idea seems to finding money throwing, desperate or greedy prospects, use fiver for traffic. Other traffic methods doesn't seem to be to believable to make them work as Ricky P wrote above.

If someone has tried or have some ideas you can make this work, please comment.

As for the rest of it: don't know. I think academia.edu can work as a parasite - but testing it now.

The YT comment thing does work and I tried it with Amazon products and got a few sales with a handful of comments. But can't really scale.

Do you include your affiliate link in the comment?

No no don't insert links. Like someone explained above, Give a description of whatever product you are promoting and if your description is glowing enough, the reader will do a Google search

Do you even care to go through the posts in a thread before you comment, or do you swing in and out of threads like monkeys in a jungle swinging between trees?

I don't consider any question stupid but a question for which all the answers have already been given in so much detail is even worse. For Fks sake that is whole point being discussed in so many of the previous posts, so do you mind reading the whole thread before asking such questions?
