also what exactly is VPS? and what are the advantages of it?

I don't know about the VPS...

But, I can talk about free extensions. They are absolutely free, but they didn't belong to you... So, the day they decide to stop it, it's dead (I've lost hundreds of free domain name and the backlinks)... Furthermore, it's extremely difficult to rank with these extensions... I've tried it with low competition keywords on a .TK free domain and I've never been on the first page of google in my country...

So, the best thing to do is to buy a traditionnal one: .com, .org, .net etc... it's not very expensive if you buy a new one or an expired one.

With free hosts you have bandwidth limitations, like if one person browsing your website for sometime then your website got suspended for some time like after some 20-30 hits, another major backdrop is some of the major adnetworks will not accepts free hosts, you will web crawler issues also.
For free domain name you wont get your brand identity, like for 1freehosting their free domain extensions would be like yourdomain.yzi.me or yourdomaain.bugs3.com but here you can connect your own branded domain name with these hosts.

And finally i dont know exactly how VPS works, they wud be like your remote computers, most of the vps used for gaming websites and for other large websites unlike shared hosting vps have have limited storage and if you want to increase storage capacity you have to pay extra money to hosting providers.
