Excellent idea for a thread. Sharing views is always a good idea. There is always something to learn.
It is interesting how people view what they do as apposed to the "official definitions".
To be honest I am not that deep so I have never given much thought to how I personally define black hat.

There are some very definite extremes. There are also some what I call grey hat. I am not always completely sure where the fine line is between the two techniques.

Hope more people contribute their definition to the thread.
